just upped snow amounts for NNJ and NY STATE. That was a no-brainer... Radar has swung the precip off the ocean and from the NE...which should continue the rain to snow transition...going to be some big numbers for some. Enjoy it guys...and the winds are about to really go nuts...prepare for outages.
Here is a NYC metro radar...keep refreshing it..notice the precip coming in from the NE which shows that storm has now REALLY begin to crank out over the ocean..and just throw the precip back over land. Expect that to continue for another 10 to 12 hours. RADAR: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=DIX&product=NCR&overlay=11101111&loop=yes
In a very rare way...here is the radar you can watch precip that is out of range on the first link I posted...but is heading your way. Great radar..use both of them to see the future. LINK; https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=okx&loop=yes
I was watching the radar before you posted this,,,,,this thing actually looks as if its moving SW instead of East or North,,,,I think its circling / looping but could be wrong,,,,Jay what did the up the amounts to in NJ / ME I did not see ? If this CCB really sets up as advertised we can get dumped on for a while----thoughts ?
Power keeps flickering. Was play F1 2017 and halfway thru the British GP, it went out. Also, I thought it wasn't supposed to snow in my neck of the woods.
Okay, so you're north of the Ice Belt. My brother is in Pleasantville. There's a spot when I head north on the Saw Mill, near the Westchester County Police, where it is raining to the south, and it magically turns to snow just to the north.
starting to let up now. no real accumulation over the last few hours. new house still no power.should be a messy move tomorrow.
Still have strong winds here in Fair Lawn, NJ (Bergen County) but no snow at all. I have as much snow in my yard as I would in July.
I'm a few miles south of you. There's snow on my lawn, but nothing on the pavement. I think the wind died down too.
First off Fjay I hope you are hanging in there buddy. Crazy storm that was , so many areas effected in different ways. The wind did a lot of damage many people could be without power for a while. I know 2 people with trees on their houses, my other friend had a tree totally demolish her car in the driveway luckily she was not in it,,,,,,,,the snow was real hard to pin down, I mean Im not sure how much elevation played in this as some people at lower elevation got more snow than some at higher elevations ? Catskills got 30 plus inches, Pocconos got 20,,,,,,Monroe got 18,,,,,,,,,,it snowed by me all day and after the quick initial 2 inches of slop ,temp went to 37 and nothing else stuck. Many places had water damage and flooding,,,,,just a real strong storm hope everyone got and gets threw the rest ok .
@FJF Remember the rain storm stories in my life? Yesterday we signed the sale contract in my real estate agent's office and guess what it was another rain storm. I expect rain the day we move out of this house as well.
