Ok, the freezing rain stopped and it's snowing hard. Surprised to read the central Jersey shore line is getting wet. The snow/sleet line must be close, I'm in central nj, about 5 miles from the shore.
Still coming down at a decent clip CB with occasional gusts. Brighter sky too so it appears we're on the back end.
Sleeting now here in Bergen County. Here in Fair Lawn NJ I would say we got a round a foot. Thinking of going out with the snow blower within the next hour or so. Seems like the worst as far as accumulations is coming to an end.
Waiting for the wind to die down a bit. Seems we just hit another heavy snow band. Probably will start the Ariens around 3pm.
Northern Fairfield Cty has about 15-18" on the ground now and another 3" to 8" forecast between now and 7pm when the snow will have tapered off too occasional furries. No power loss yet (knock on wood) and I'm guessing the travel ban helped in that regard. The 9 day outage started for me when an elderly couple crashed into an electrical pole coming off of I95 near Groton.
It continues to snow here in Central PA. Gonna suit up and get outside here in about 30mins. I was waiting for it to stop but no such luck. Evidently Stella got a big ass!
Snow picked back up an hour ago and is still falling. I'm going to guess we get the full 20" by the time it stops. TV says 10-16 fell in our area but we've got much more than that on the lawn, maybe 18" at this point. Roads have been well plowed this time around. Nobody on the roads but plows and if our road is clear at 4:30pm the main roads have to be in great shape too.
Guys, don't forget to shovel out your mailboxes if they're on the curb.. Finally got my shoveling completed and right now, I feel like I just did a marathon workout. Ariens are great blowers, but they will challenge you. They are heavy beasts and if you're not in decent shape, you'll know it inside of 10 minutes.. Good thing I got the Makers Mark 46 to make it all good! FJF, CBG, no more snowstorms ok? Its almost April so if you must, conjure up the next storm for after Thanksgiving 2017...
