Im right on the border of nassau and queens(south of JFK) and I still see 12-24....which is a pretty wide range, but havent seen anything less than 12...I know Ive hit the jackpot with the very few storms we have had, but Ill still be upset if I dont get to that 14-18 range!
My brother lives in Island Park rt across the street from the water. and is concerned of flooding more than anything (just bought the house this past fall) Luckily he has off the next 2 days (he works in the airline industry) and is on the train to the Isles game
I see that a few of the models are having a very hard time with locating the sleet mixing lines-----models are not agreeing or I guess having a hard time with the data provided , thats all I can guess ? I dont exactly understand how the mid level lows work maybe JAY will chime in but it seems to me thats where battles are taking place between warm and cold / sleet and snow,,,,Fjay am I wrong about this ?
What is the Belmar, NJ area looking at? (Coastal Monmouth/Ocean County border) Have heard all different ranges the past 2 days Hoping for a ton of snow and not a mix
Wife has off tomorrow. State of Emergency declared. Christie has closed all state offices tomorrow. Unluckily I work at a federal office so...fuck. Everyone will have off but me.
Sorry to hear that GD but at least your benefits kicks ass I pay north of $600 every month for health, dental and vision insurance and my friend who works for FBI pays peanuts.
@CBG , more western track is going to bring mixing issues from 95 east. you are going to see lower numbers for nyc. jersey shore, long island and as a result of the track higher numbers for the interior.thats part of the reason you switched from wsw to blizzard warning. no mixing and 12:1 ratios for us.
Shit, any chance it creeps back east? Dont want you guys to lose any total amounts, but really dont want sleet, that shits a pain in the ass
Snow is starting in Central PA. Pellets falling presently. Seagulls all got out of dodge flying west. Stella is indeed coming to town.
I want big numbers ,but hate for the city to get beat,,,,,how late are you up tonight FJAYF ? Will you be around in the wee hours ,,,I will
Apparently Connecticut is the only state that is going to get absolutely blanketed border to border. The freaking weather map is all pink for us and pink is not good Travel BAN set for the AM. If you're not an emergency responder or other official type you're not allowed on the road at all. 25" listed north of 84 and 24" south. We're just south so maybe we get the lucky inchless zone. Ah, who am I kidding? The last two big storms like this took power down for 9 days and 4 days respectively. Connecticut Light and Power wound up selling out to Eversource after the last storm as local officials pointed the lynch mobs at the company to avoid getting offed themselves.
The only thing worse than 4 hours of shoveling snow in the freezing cold is the hangover the morning after you did jello shots off a co-eds belly all night long and then woke up naked in the bushes under the bridge to the next key.
won't be around much, going to try and gt some sleep. loooong 2days ahead of me. me and my wife are both considered essential personnell. so,kids are going to g-ma's bro in law will drive wife to work tomorrow, i will be in early, before this thing bombs out, leave in time to pick wife up at midnight.clean enough to get truck back in driveway, few hours sleep and back to work wednesday. i aspire, one day, to be non essential personnell. tough call right now on who is the big winner, thought cman would be a safe bet, not sure anymore. hudson valley has potential for huge numbers these are how the storms i remember tracked in the 80's 90's. all ways bigger numbers north and west. @FazeOne17 still a chance you do not have mixing. this runs off the coast 25 miles before it heads north and you will be all snow. not impossible. going with the short term models now though does not look good for that. the setup is too perfect for it to hit open water and turn. thats it boys, model runs are about over, now casting will begin. pay attention, you are going to see snow rates seldom seen. we will talk about this one like we do the boxing day 2010 that started this thread and the 1996 blizzard good luck, stay safe and at least once tomorrow go walk around your yard or street. hope jay pops in with some radar watching during the day
be safe FJAY----I want the numbers but hoping this thing moves east to get everyone back in the game----I might send up bat signal !
