Most people do not know but Joe Scott former Air Force Academy and Princeton head basketball coach is from Pelican Island which is under the bridge going over to Sleazside. There are actually people who live on that little island. Couldn't say I'd be a big fan of being in that spot this weekend as it's essentially already underwater and doesn't take up much space.
Holy shit, I hope I can get tickets to that! Seriously, the two places I care about are Pt Pleasant/Manasquan, NJ, where I'm from, and central Connecticut, where I'm at now. I'm not expecting much besides a lot of rain and wind, hopefully we don't lose power up here. In NJ, I'm just hoping that my dad's new house on the river doesn't sustain damage or we'd be pretty fucked.
I know what you saying about Pt and Sqaun. My cousin is in Point right near the Inlet. All that seperates them from the water is Co Op Seafood. Ok there is a little more the that but that's what it seems like. We grew up on Chicago a stones throw from Jack Bakers. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my old hood.

It'll land in jersey right about minimum hurricane wind strength (75mph). While thats enough to make a mess, it shouldnt be catastrophic. The rain on the other hand, hooboy. I can't see how my grandmother's canal-front Toms River house doesn't flood.
Its shocking how the exterior and left side has fallen apart while over water..not land. They are sticking to their guns of wind speeds over 60 and 6-12 inches of rain for this area..not the weather channel but the NWS as of 4am. They must know something that we cant see on radar.
I caught some Weather Channel before I left the house. The little dude on the beach at Nags Head wasn't getting blown around like he was standing in front of a wind turbine. That was a letdown for me, I gotta say. My favorite part of any hurricane is watching dumbasses out in it getting blown over while on live tv :lol:
Back in 83 I was stationed in Tenn. We got like an inch. I40, and 240 had people literally slid off the road every 1/4 mile. :rofl2:
Winds are still trop storm force here. They really picked up about 2-4am . I woke up tp small shed in back being blown around etc. Looks like the center is about to hit Right around the Jacksonville NC area north of Wilmington.
I'm near Norfolk, VA. Good ole sideways rain here. Gusts about 50 mph. Apparently there's a small boat off the coast of Virginia Beach that's bobbing around wildly, getting ready to flip. Some dude said he thought he saw two people in it. Probably no one in it, but they had to send out the Coast Guard. If there's someone in it, they are morons.
Well....the patio furniture and all the backyard shit is in the garage, the windows are taped, and we have the flashlights and the battery powered radio all juiced up. Bottle of vodka for the wife and a (mostly filled) bottle of Glenmorangie for me. Gonna get some quality beers from the distibutor down the street a little later, and we have plenty of easy to eat food and the barbeque is the first thing I can reach in the garage. As ready as I can be for this bitch.

I'm down at World Trade Center making sure my project doesn't flood out the Memorial and it's about as humid as can be. Looks like a lot of people left town but still a good amount of tourists taking pictures.
Even funnier, these guys are still on TWC trying to hype doom and destruction, they cut from one camera to another, and It was a Guy, in Zero wind, FISHING...The producer cut the feed so fast, it went to a red screen before they could find something else to show.....:rofl:
