just looking now, the 00z and 12z have been snowier then the 06z and 18z, i think we are in a 4-7 storm on thursday. the 00 and 12 modles are usually more accurate. this latest doesn't let the storm come north even though it gets out in front of the high pressure to the north.
Accuweather says Madison gets 2-4 inches on Thursday. Accurate? My snow blower will arrive tomorrow. Got delayed a day.

looking like a solid 3-6 event for most, nyc, north jesey, south westchester into new england gets the bigger numbers. late morning start for thursday going to thursday night. so to lay out the week, today cool ad rain tomorrrow temps near 60 thursday 6" of snow. mother nature is a cybil and another chance this weekend

I am anticipating lots of school closings Thursday @Fred Mertz . So weather channel just bought in to this storm. a little late but they are on board.
Nam has us getting a lot of snow FJAYF ,,,others models on the lesser side. Nam has been pretty consistent this year , at least I think so. No one knows for sure , but since this winter has sucked I am on the side of caution and think we can easily get screwed again..OTHER people might say we are due but "TRENDS TRENDS TRENDS" .very curious to see what this afternoon and evening runs say !
I always feel that the nam is too bullish when it comes to precip totals.the timing is usally good though. bernie is high in this storm though and that's a good sign. the other thing i like and we know, trends, and what snow events we have gotten have been over acheivers so maybe we get more than advertised. 12z gfs coming out soon. will post again around noon

ok, 18z gfs backed off totals a bit, latest still has most of us around 8". this is a decent size storm, there will be some wind involved also, expect watches to go up soon.
What the shit? First I'm supposed to get flakes, now it's 3-5" in the matter of hours? No. Go back to the dusting!
FJAYF----I think local tv guys are going to up all the totals. I am looking at moisture and most models have close to an inch , some more some slightly less also weather geeks always talk about dynamics and this thing will have LOTS of cold air aloft and that should increase snow totals , am I wrong Fjay I dont think so ? instead of 10 to 1 are we looking at 12 to 1 or 14 to 1 ? I am not sure if there is a way to be more exact with snow ratios? Where is Jay when I need him,,,,maybe u know the answer FJAY
