Beautiful in Bethel today. Had all the windows open and enjoyed a late-March Spring day.

Basically just going to be one massive rainstorm here. Rain tomorrow, thunderstorm Wednesday. I feel bad I won't be home with my dog, I don't know how she'll do with the storm.

today was great. saturday was better. little touch of winter comes back tomorrow afternoon north and west of nyc before wednesday's deluge. will see close to 2" of rain over the next 3 days. imagine if the temps were right for that to be snow

I'm still not sure what we have in store for us over the next few decades as the temperatures continue to rise and everything up north and down at the South Pole continues to melt. In theory as the mid-winter temperatures at the Arctic Circle rise we'll get more and more polar vortex effects across the Midwest and Northeast. Combine those cold waves with increased precipitation from all the water vapor released into the air as the Arctic melts and we might get some granddaddy blizzards over the next few decades in the context of shorter winters with overall higher temperatures than historically recorded in those areas.

A 6 footer followed by a week of intense melt late in the winter season might not be so unusual if that happens.

Plenty of rain yesterday. Was not enjoyable.

Walked my dog and it was dry out before work this morning. Rained super hard in the morning after I got to work. Stopped right before I left for lunch. Walked the dog. Got back to work and it started raining again. Stopped right before I left. Started to rain right as we were getting back to the apartment.

Tornado watch is in effect for South Jersey. Feels like the kind of night where power may disappear. Got a candle lit. Found a laser pointer that doubles as a "torch" which is what I'm stuck with since my normal flashlight is missing and the really good one from Afghanistan has a dead battery and needs a 3V...

Small break in the storm in my neck of the woods. Successfully walked my dog for the fourth time today without it raining.

    Suck it, nature.

On that note, it is 78°F in my apartment and climbing because my 80 year old downstairs neighbor cranks her heat up and it all rises to my apartment. Air conditioning is on.
