So basically the summary of my ride: Slight snow in Connecticut NY nothing (187) Snow from around Exit 153 down to 100 where it turned into a mix. Finally turned into full rain by Toms River. Trip took me about six hours, fifteen minutes. Normally is five hours, forty-five minutes. Not bad considering I stopped to walk the dog, hit up a drive thru, and had to emergency pull over when the dog freaked out over some noise and managed to unbuckle herself.
My buddy came over to pick up his kid,,,,said roads were horrible,,,,,that was an hour ago. Wife just got home from work said same thing roads a mess . Kids were outside playing still coming down I'd say 2 inches,,,,give or take,,,,,if your a snow lover like me its a shame that its going to rain this would have been a nice one. Well winter ain't over yet , maybe we get one or 2 more out of her, heck she owes us as this winter has been a bust as far as snow , just ask the ski resorts . If not we will get em next year ! Enjoy the evening and be safe all .
Nasty here. Snow and rain on the way and still 22 degrees. It's going to be a very bad night for driving. Weird weather, like beyond weird. 22 and snowing at 8:30 in the evening and they say 40 and rain at 2 am. How often does that kind of shift happen in February? It's topsy-turvy.
Yea, radar appeared to be moving really fast. As long as traffic was moving, the snow wasn't sticking. The only time you could see it start to cover any road was in non-moving traffic.
It is like a monsoon here in Northern Bergen County. Tons of rain and really high winds. I have little lakes forming in my back yard. _
Ok enough of all this monsoon talk,,this storm like many other sucks ! We don't want flooding and wind and rain we want snow,,at least I do and I know a few others do as well ! This said let's turn our attention to next Wednesday as computers show a massive storm,,,,,,yes many days away but cut me some slack right now its all I got ! FJF,,,,,,let's get me and you some snow ! Not an advisory or warning but a good old fashioned kick your ass snowstorm ! Are you in , or are you in the way ? Lol
That would be something according to the 12z euro huh?.ok i am in. Start watching. First thing i noticed is that is wedged right in between to pretty strong highs. I don't think we will see much change in the next few runs.
3 inches or less? That's not too bad. Rain SUCKED today. Flooding all over my area. Dog and I had a fight about going outside for lunch. I won, though I had to suffer through 10 minutes of torrential downpour before she finally gave up and peed. Stuck changing my clothes. Went to take my normal jug handle to make a U-turn and it was flooded. Luckily no one was behind me so I backed up and took a long ass detour. Opposite side of the road was flooded except for the left lane. 10 minutes later, when I got back to work, the rain really slowed down and nearly stopped another five minutes later. This area of South Jersey floods so easily.
FJF ,,,I saw that earlier,,,and yes it's days away and anything can happen but it sure would be nice if it it stayed this way and actually happened,,,,a kid can dream can't he ?
Late nite models " go west young man " ,,,lol I am sure they will bounce back and forth and keep changing,,,,,will get more interesting come Sunday / Monday or maybe by then we are bummed out again ? Hope not
CBG Last year, I was giving heads up to my friends at work before big storms and suddenly I became the hero. As soon as you and @flajetfan are certain about this next big storm, can you write it openly so I can give heads up to friends? Also, until Jay comes, I say let's add your name and Fla's name to the thread.Jay's CBG's and Fla's House of Weather.
Here's the problems with that Brook,,,,,first I'm flattered but I'm more of a snow stalker then a weather geek ! I can't make heads or tails of these computer runs,,,,,,,,, As far as looking like a genius to your friends and FJF will tell you this as me and him both have about 4 dozen eggs on our face this year --------> this year is SO unlike past years, these computer models spit out different scenarios not each day or two but sometimes with each run ! Many storms this year were more now casting then predictions as the computer models have rarely agreed while changing all the scenarios even up to the event ! This Said you know I will be on here everyday begging for snow like a little kid,,,,and FJF keep up the good work and " make it snow already " lol
@Brooklyn, this will always be jays thread. No title change needed. @CBG , well said. Long term models have been tough and always so far apart from each other until 48hrs out or better. Now that west track the over night euro put out would be a great one for double digit totals. And that's all i want. Let me run the new blower one time before the warranty runs out
Hey FJF The weather guy at JetNation board who predicted last storm in advance saying Blizzard with 12 to 18 inches between Virgina and Maine. This is the same thing you and CBG are talking about right?
So the storm is still on the late nite computers but want to hear a shocker ? Of course they are now calling for a rain event,,,why wouldn't they ? This will change again with every run,,,,,,,if it was not so comical it would be sad,,,,,,,,,days to go yet,,,,,,
