good band over south pa and jersey right now. if it holds together, should give an inch or 2 over north jersey, rockland, nyc and western long island in a couple of hours. i am almost at an inch of accumulation with another hour of snow to go. might have to break out a shovel this week.
FJF. Weather geeks say we might get 2 to 4 in the city Tuesday,,,,,,,if this trough hits us should we get more ? What o u think ?
I think we are into the advanced class and its kicking my ass lol. No one knows where the trough sets up but they will get the bigger numbers but not more than 6". My moneys on cman. Really watching the radar more than the models now.
FJF if it makes you feel better and it should,,,,none of these guys or girls knows what the hell is going on ! They have been doing it a lot longer than you and many of them get paid to do it,,,,,,,,,,chin up young Jedi ,,,trust the force !
Ok kids something happening,,,snowing in some areas,,radar blowing up,,,I'm at work so not much time to look,, but I vertex trough ? Buehler? Anyone ? Fjf ? Buehler ?
Not on the radar but snowing here. Good band passing through south jersey and pa right now. Ended last nite with 2" of fluffy stuff. @CBG potential for 3" tonite keep watching the radar. To quote jay" we are nowcasting"
Think we are going from now casting to NO casting,,,,,amazing how these storms and models change on an hourly basis ,,,,this was a tough winter for you to pick up the baton FJF,,,,,I luv the snow and am not ready to pack it in just yet but I am pretty close,,,,just too many disappointing systems . I guess if you like snow and live on Long Island this was a good winter but even there it has snowed and disappeared rather quickly. Give me another storm or 3 then let's get in Spring mode because this really sux !
in the freezer this weekend, but who cares, it costs pennies instead of dollars to turn the heat on right? after that a couple of clippers to watch next tuesday through thursday than a potential bigger event for next weekend? i hear ya about this winter @CBG , just not in the cards for snow. the couple inches we got last nite is gone already. i'm almost ready to give up. we will watch this next week and see what happens. if you talk to jay, tell him the baton cn go back to him when ever he is ready
Snow still falling here. 4" on the ground due to the warm weather we've had up until yesterday. We got lucky. Didn't have to use the Ariens. Just shoveled. What's up for next Monday? Been hearing rumblings...
Made a horseshoe right around northern jersey. Nyc seeing snow along with parts of long island. To the west, snow in pa. Almost reaching Scranton. But a nice dry semi circle over north jersey.
tuesday/wednesday miller B. euro has it pretty strong, questioning the temps though. 50/50 we are looking at a rain event
next threat/hope (depending on your whole snow attitude) is tuesday/wednesday. what looked like an upper level low in yesterday's models looks to be a legit coastal low that could give big snow or rain depending on the track. we will be going from a high around 16 to a high in the 40's in a two day span from saturday to monday. depending on the track of this storm and whether it can make its own cold temps will determine if its rain, snow or both. right now it showing a snow event north and west of the city and a rain with some ice for nyc, jersey shore and long island. 5 days out so this bears watching as we burn a bunch of cheap oil this weekend
FJF its hard to even get your hopes up,,,,You know exactly what I mean as these models are going to flip flop at least a thousand times before next Tuesday ,,,,,,,,most likely this thing hits Long Island like all the rest this year,,,,,,or as you say if it does hit us it will be a freaking heavy rain ...keep up the good work FJF but this winter has been very depressing to snow lovers like us,,,,,the past 3 days showed so much potential a few days ago and we got zilch ,,,and now as I always say if its going to be cold it might as well snow and the weekend will be brutal
