Good job FjF! You earned your stripes today man. Jay would have been proud! Officially.. York PA... 27.5" with 2-4" additional inbound. We will top 30" when its all said and done.
I live in DE just south of Phillie and we got about 20 inches. Took me 2 hours with breaks to clear out my driveway and I am still not done completely with the drifts up to foot and half. Good luck NY.
Looks like its time for Maker's Mark 46 follow by a nice medium broiled Ribeye! I wonder when the "I survived the Blizzard of 2016" tshirts come out?
Its Official: The Blizzard of 2016 is the All Time PA biggest snowstorm! I know some of you don't particularly care for snow but you've witnessed history today! Something to tell your grandkids about one day in the future! I can say I've lived thru 2 history making blizzards... The Blizzard of 1976 and the Blizzard of 2016. I have been truly blessed..
Yes... I've been blessed. I've seen weather history being made TWICE in my lifetime so yeah, its a blessing IMO!
I live maybe 3 miles from the big MetLife air conditioner, where they play football. I just measured 23" on the deck in the back, and 25" on the front lawn. Pristine snow, no drifts. That's some serious snow right there.
Still snowing dude. I'm not going out there with a ruler cuz fuck that but I'd say we're at a solid 6 maybe 7
I'll tell you, I used to *love* the snow back in the olden days, If I saw snow in the forecast, I'd jump in my truck, say "see ya" and head for the mountains. If you were looking for me, I'd be riding the G Lift at Hunter Mountain, but please don't look for me. Now, the snow is just another thing I have to take care of, and I'm not quite as prolific a shoveler as I once was.
I like your reasoning, but I just put my boots on. So, I'm grabbing my shovel, and heading out there. There's times when a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
Blessed? Really? Maybe you're blessed because you survived, but this storm has brought death, destruction, flooding, and misery to millions of people. This is not a time for celebration. This storm is tragic. Dozens dead, people stranded oh highways, lost power, costs to major cities and businesses in hundreds of millions or more. Blessed is the last word I would use.
Yep.. I was able to witness history in the making and to me, its a blessing. You want to dwell on the horrors of a blizzard, that's your choice. This isn't a Volcano, Earthquake, Tsunami or Meteor Strike. Nor is it the Snowpocalypse. People die every day from a myriad of things. Death is a part of life. So is weather.
You speak the truth. Did you ever see the movie "Lillies of the Field," with Sidney Portier? The nuns were running this chapel with a leaky roof, but they never fixed it. When it was raining, no one could go up there and repair it. When it wasn't raining, the roof wasn't leaking. That's me with the snowblower. Makes no sense. I know.
