Jay doesn't the combo of snow, sleet and freezing rain make for very dangerous driving conditions? This sounds scary..

Oh yes FM...I have been posting that on the site for the last 48 hours. I really believe by Monday night between the temps dropping from 32 to 10 in about 8 hours...it will become very dangerous.

Lets break it down this way....most areas west of NYC will have really bad conditions MONDAY morning...then things will get a bit crazy when all the mixing starts to happen..and then comes the part of the storm that has me the most intrigued. At some point in the afternoon, almost everyone will go back to snow..and as temps go from 32 in the early AM..to around 22 by 2 or 3pm..to around 15 by 7pm...and then 10 in the city to single digits overnight...many areas will still be getting snow on top of the snow/sleet/freezing rain that fell during the morning and early afternoon. A flash freeze setup begins...and I really believe Monday night and Tuesday morning? The roads will be at their worst.

I will go into details but at some point late in the afternoon and early evening Monday? Will become very very dangerous and everyone should take that into consideration if attempting to go to work on Monday.

Where are you JS? Areas north of I80 and then even Morris County and west of GSP are, I think, no school days..and work days for many. NYC? east of NYC? Well...schools will open in NYC...but those areas all depend if and when they go to flat out rain. Really tough call there...where are you again?

Jersey shore cant catch a break this winter...not happening...but that contrast between low 50's and the arctic air that will be invading our areas up north in the afternoon? Think many areas will be very surprised on what happens in the last 1/4 of the storm.

Keep 'em coming Jay. My kids are jumping around the house getting ready for Superbowl party and I told them they could stay up all night to watch the game entirely for the first time in their short life time of 8.5 years. Wifey is a teacher and she is also looking forward to no work tomorrow in Passaic County. Send some good news our way please :)

HMMM...thats not a good trip JS...I mean, dont know if you have a place that expects you no matter what. I just cant see that being a good trip. Heading into CT is a disaster. Northern Bergen County is not a good area either.
