We'll no news is bad news for snow maniacs like myself,,,,,if this storm does not. In anyway bury us I am going into complete club CBG mode and getting my mind set to opening pool,,,power washing and staining deck,,,,,,planting a few things,,lighting up a few others,,,citronella torches and candles,,,,,new BBQ mode,,,,,did I leave anything out ?dont think so,,,,,,,,,possibly a new rolling ice chest / cooler,,,,,,,,that said come on euro move north big time baby ,,,,,,lol
nothing CBG...big BIG down south but not here..nothing. Will be on later tonight to give it one more good look. Is this the end of winter? Could be.
this second wave after the first storm that misses US south is something to keep an eye on...just one eye...but the NAM keeps hinting at a second low pressure riding up the coast after the first one that misses us south. Now, its been there for several runs on the NAM but I mentioned it briefly yesterday..no other models had such a possibility. Something interesting with the GFS and the EURO that both models sent precip up the coast but not as far as the NAM. Models will have a real hard time figuring out what the heck that is...so the NAM keeps bringing it..and Im not talking about a few inches..I mean heavy precip. Snow now that the GFS and the EURO to a much less extent..but still introduced something like that...we need to keep an eye out for this and I have a funny feeling Tuesday night Wedensday will have at least a little surprise. Long term...Huge storm which I am not taking serious at all middle of next week but I think we can at least start to wrap winter up after Wednesday and just check in here and there to make sure we have nothing left.....so...light at the end of the tunnel..and its been a hell of a lot of fun this year guys and girls. Have something different planned for next year but will always attempt to be here at TGG to throw stuff back and forth with some tremendous posters. You guys are great.
Jay nothing is over " until we say its over, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor ? " That said keep an eye on this Tuesday Wednesday thing,,,,,I am getting into opening the backyard / pool and doing yard work mode ! Keep us posted Jay !
LOL....GREAT scene....great scene. Next Tuesday, the models show a major storm and guess what??? So does the return of cold air meaning it will probably keep it south of us again. Reason I put that there is we can start to wind down winter guys. Whether this last storm happens, we can keep an eye out this week but even though its cold today, getting the deck ready...doing some outside cleaning and get the spring game out and lets roll!! For the final storm, the second wave may come through as rain showers...maybe..but who cares..no snow. Below is a future pic of the storm that will drop a lot of snow for DE/MD and maybe even extreme southern NJ. Reason Im posting this pic is to take it easy on your local weather folks when they are wrong. Weather, will NEVER EVER be 100 percent. They can come up with every gadget in the world but they will never be right all the time. If anything, I would say the models have shown no real improvement the past 4 years. The extreme long range is a bit better..but when I was younger, the weather people could tell 5 days in advanced if a huge snow storm was coming...and they can today. Location accuracy? Never will happen. One day we can discuss it but it will never happen. So easy on your weather people...they try hard. Here is the picture I wanted to show you of the next storm 48 hours out..which is exactly..exactly how the models had this 1 week ago but about 180 miles north. Thats all you can ask for:
This time of the year we should occasionally flirt with at least 60..and 10 days out and I still do not see that GQ...good luck with the baseball buddy! Golf? After several years of on and off, this year Im making a golf comeback...I try to practice all winter by shouting four.
lol...sorry GD...what is the EHT area? And just checked the latest short term models..north..but not enough for FJF or CBG yet. Areas around I80 could get 1 to 2 inches. Now GD..give me your exact area again?
Hey GD. From you local NWS: ACCUMULATIONS...GENERALLY 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW. SOME SPOTS IN KENT COUNTY IN MARYLAND, SOUTHERN NEW CASTLE COUNTY IN DELAWARE AND CUMBERLAND COUNTY AND ATLANTIC COUNTY IN NEW JERSEY MAY RECEIVE CLOSE TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW. Now from me...if you go by the latest model runs..and I always thought it would have to come back a bit north being March...easily double the lower number. More like 4 to 6 I would think...and sorry.
