Either too warm or the models read this one two punch wrong but the main storm looks to be Sunday night/Monday. FJF...I swear..swear...would love to say thats it..and todays runs came a bit closer to that because the 3 storm starting next weekend warmed A BIT...would love to say that..but cant yet. WOULD LOVE TO.
OK....Now the GFS goes south..and joins the EURO..and this is VERY GOOD NEWS for those that do not want snow. very good news. Now the question is whos right? I think the new trend is good news for everyone and bad news for CBG. Having the NAM on your side and now the EURO/GFS/CMC on the other side..well...a solution may not be far off. Or is it. Last storm, we had good model agreement this far out but the NAM did very well. Now..like last time there is a big storm with heavy snows further south. So this is not a "its march..no snow" thing because then the snow would be north. So, we have to watch this carefully because its tough to buy this time of the year, this storm so far south. The GFS and the CMC gives the ST. Patty day parade the total green light..and maybe thats a great thing.
So what's the forecast for Long Island for this next storm? Not that I care, I'm flying out on Saturday for a week in the Caribbean, but I'm looking forward to skiing well into April.
Right now the dome is over nnj/nyc/l.i. so it looks like we might sneak out of here with this missing us south..but that can change. Easily.
Jay I have a flight out of Newark Monday night at 10 PM and coming back to Newark Wednesday at 4 PM. Any risks? Thanks
Even if this hits north Brook...Monday night looks great....now Wednesday should be ok..so lets confirm that tonight my friend.
South trend looking good right now. Sorry CBG..but it may lock in by tonight. If there is no north trend tonight, D.C. Philly..extreme South Jersey may be getting a significant snow storm with ranges of 5 to 10...north to south. Again tonight, if there would be a trend back north, it would show on at least a few models because the most players enter the US mainland. So, we keep the door open.
Wow ,,went from,,,,CBG IS going tubing with the kids to,,,,,, " NOT " pretty fast ! Yep I am still in the snow camp,,,,,,only a few inches then i will pass but if we are getting buried I am all in! Keep us posted Jay,,,the last 2 storms missed us maybe this one also,,,,,,,,let us know what the models say this afternoon, soon no ? And tonight,,,,,,keep em coming

tonight is a big big night CBG...there is a chance....a chance..that we could start to talk about wrapping up winter. Will explain tonight...but if this storm misses south...and the trend changes from this storm alone...its a long story but this storm plays into the end of winter (or still a string of 2 or 3 storms???). Will try to keep the drinking of wine to a minimum tonight..lol.
Perfect timing,,,got home from my kids school nite,,,,,,,,had a coupe of beverages ,,,,on my 3rd now,,,,,and the weather guru is checking the models and hopefully gonna tell us that this bad boy moved north in a big way,,,,,,let's go tubing baby,,,let's go ! What says you Jayster ?
you might want to fix another drink C and toast the winter good bye, i do believe we are done. but hey, you can still get up to that tubing place tomorrow, should still have enough snow i think

I mean...HUGE hit down south..huge. Amazning up here..its like a snow dome for our area. 1 to 2 feet north of us this week..and now this. Im dying to see the GFS snow output next...10 minutes away...lets see if its north..south..or the same as this.
the big snows are actually south of philly..but do the math guys...Cape May over 14 inches..Newark NJ 0. Can this be? Lets see what the GFS says.
