W...I get the confusion..but when you say big..you mean snow totals right? Not the size of the storm right?

Because..and man...Im really having a tough time explaining this..im sure its my fault...but the models continue for a 3 to 5 hour period to torch Long Island and MAYBE NYC..and the Jersey shore...then it goes back to snow.

This is a very dangerous storm for beach erosion...winds....flooding for a few...flat roofs will collapse..aint no doubt about that.

The problem is who gets over 12..and who gets under 6..and here is the one promise I make you guys tonight..I will draw a line and look at the real short term models and I promise you ...PROMISE...i will be wrong..and so will every forecaster out there.

Every person you watch on t.v. will bust in an area...they will bust calling 6 for someone that gets over 12...and they will bust the other way around.

Will really try to hone in on something tonight..but as of right now....I95..to the east..you could get rain mixed in maybe even turn over to rain for a bit.

To the west you could have sleet mixed in alot..and still get over a foot.

May people that get sleet mixed in and even turn to sleet for awhile will still get over a foot..loaded with precip.

AND again...I know Im going to have to keep repeating this...its a two pronged storm..with an incredible ending..some people will think the storm is over..turned to rain...its probably done..and get 8 more inches at night.

Will try to explain why during the night.

I feel the same way. Every night after work, I crack open a Beck's, and look up this thread. First, I search for the weather.

Then I look for the goodies, like what appears to be weather terminology that is actual a subliminal reference to hot chicks, with thinly veiled Lesbian overtones.

It's a real public services, this thread. A real public service.

    :)

Ok. I laid down enough salt to make a herd of Deer very very happy. Not sure what the final numbers will be out here but you can feel the moisture in the air and it is cold. Not sure where the mix line will be but I suspect it will be pretty close to the Delaware river and perhaps B'more.

Got my Oreo cookies, ginger ale, sliced deli Ham and Turkey, Full tank of Gas, Gentleman Jack Daniels. I'm ready to hunker down and ride this SOB out.

Jay, we still in double digits out here?

    Destined to become a classic.

Reminds me of Married with Children, when Kelly had her own show called, "Vital Issues and Stuff."

Do you have the gams to pull off a tight minidress and pumps, Jay?

When history writes the story about this one..it will start with the south..and how they now have almost a half million with no power..and then look at florida..tornado's and nasty thunderstorms..the storm that has it all.

FJF...if there is anyone that is a sure over a foot of snow...IMO..its you bud.

I was just looking at the radar compared to models from this morning and this storm looks to be about 2 hours ahead of them models. I think i put down midnight for me..and maybe 1am for you...I would think around 11 for me...Midnight..no later than 1am for you.

By 5am...gangbusters up by you or close to it...from around 5 or 6 am till who knows...Im thinking 12 to 18 for you.

We've all done things we aren't proud of a Jets' games. I once sat by myself through a game against the Colts that they lost 9 to 5. I think it was raining that day, too.

CMAN...Your NWS has you about 10..and cant disagree..but want to think more. I think you might go to sleet longer.

Also, this huge back end snow we have been talking about encompasses most of N.J on north..so its a tough call.

You will get a huge front end burst of snow...so 10 is likely...maybe a foot.
