 ok...ok...patshater....living in mass..nothing gets by you badge...good one. Im sure PH has bitched about that....I never saw it.
It's been one for the record books for sure. Even if I wasn't making money plowing, I'd still enjoy all the snow.
Ok..just came in from outside...this is going to be bad. Wires already are sagging a bit. Just the beginning. Just wanted to note...not a weather expert...I get my info on the net and have been following this stuff since I was 14. I fly around the net during storms and can decipher the bullshit from the truth. SO THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS..but anyone could do it if they wanted to. With that said, this isnt looking good. Some people are going to lose power for a very long time. Mix of freezing rain and sleet right now and its coming down hard. Only hope is that it turns to true rain and with most temps stuck in the 20's, thats going to be tough. NYC and East/South have the best chance for that to happen. If you do not have to drive..dont...and if you do..by tomorrow morning...good luck getting into your car. EDIT: What I would do if I were you. If you have a fireplace..duh..load up on wood. Get in a car and go to a place that sells those packs and buy some. Cars: If you have remote start...start the bastard every couple hours...if its like mine..it shuts off in ten minutes. If not...go out there and start it you lazy bastard. Let it run and it will cut down on the impossible task of getting into it tomorrow. Have an out plan if you lose your electricty...a family member...friend...hooker..or in Jonnyd's case..a cute young male friend. Thats all for the serious shit for tonite.
Good idea....also, might sound dumb...but put the heat up in your homes higher tonite..gives you a good start. I usually set mine at 70. Im sweating up a storm at around 74 right now.
So, wait, I'm in Massachusetts. I have something due tomorrow, but if it's snowing all up the east coast and everyone's huddled away, I buy another day. On the other hand, unless the goddamn storm of the century is blowing through MA tomorrow, I'll have to pull something out my ass before noon. Kind of what I'm expecting. A decent second choice would be a state of emergency in New York, which would shut the OTHER side down. So, where we at?
I'm told that's problematic. Especially in older homes such as mine. It will increase the melt rate on your roof, with will speed up runoff, and cause some of the current freeze to find a way in. Or so I hear.
Im more into the body temp staying warm and not being found rock solid by the neighbor across the street who is DYING for my snow blower...prick. My luck, he takes the snow blower and reports me dead next week. Bottom line, screw the runoff. Now the post before that...you know I think you are the best..but what the f are you talking about. Take the day off...deal with your runoff...and turn the heat up to 90.
I want to sleep in tomorrow. But I know I'm going to get a call from the office: "Where you at?" "It's terrible out, I'm not coming in." "What are you talking about? It's fine out." Then I'll look out the window and the sun will be shining and the pavement will be clear. And I'll curse God's name for not giving me a free day off.
Give those bastards my phone number...Im listed. I will take care of them. Just send them the link of this thread and tell them you were "misguided".
Imagine living in Chicago...poor bastards...wow..how many warnings can one city have: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...=LOT&textField1=41.837&textField2=-87.685&e=1

Well I have to be honest. This kinda sucks. I just received the money call again and I'm heading out for another day of plowing on 3 hours of sleep. Stay out the way people!!!!! I'm tired but coffee is my friend. Catch you all later.
HELL YEAH!! SNOW DAY!! The only good part of these snow storms that I like. We got a few inches during the day yesterday up here in NH. I just looked out this morning though and nothing is happening out there since early evening yesterday. The news on this morning shows its snowing like mad in Boston. Gotta be heading our way soon I would think. Now if we can just keep our power on today it will be a win-win.
I felt like I was back in school, hovering over an AM radio in the morning to see if my school canceled classes. Looks like no such luck today. We'll have freezing rain here today, with a little snow later, but it's really pretty mild out right now.
There was a frozen puddle in front of my house today. I had to wear gloves and also a knit cap. I also had to warm up my car before I left for work.
Yet another snow day from work... yay for getting paid to do nothing! Just got back from Lowes, cars off the road all over the place. You would think that in MAINE people would be better at driving in the snow. Or stay the fuck home if they know they suck at it!
