I'm resigned to the snow, but hoping hard for it to come on the late side - my daughter is flying into JFK from Rome and is scheduled to get in a little before 7. Would really appreciate it if it didn't get too bad until after 10.

Not much change from the last numbers. I think this will over perform only because of temps and higher snow ratios. Beating a dead horse but usual snow ratios of 10 to 1 will not be the case..will be around 15 to 1 at least for most of the storm and perhaps over 20 to 1 for the final 3 or 4 hours. 1 inch of precip equals 10 inches of snow. We are forecasted to get around .8 precip..10 to 1 ratio= 8" of snow. 20 to 1 ratio 16" of snow..sooooo...im guessing 10 to 12 for many with higher amounts eastern L.I. and Conn. Would not be surprised to see blizzard warnings for overnight tomorrow in NYC and the Jersey coast north of Beach Haven? Around. Then again I would not be surprised when the storm really kicks in around 7 pm tomorrow night if blizzard warnings are thrown in last minute because whether all of the criteria is met or not...parts of the criteria will be met easily. Again...5 inches...9 inches....a foot....no matter...tomorrow night will be dangerous to be on the road. Blowing snow will be a big problem all the way until at least noon Friday..even after the storm ends. All the models can spit out this and that..but its now nowcast time...and will be on all day tomorrow and tomorrow night..or close..lol.

Watching the news and a guy reporting from the east Villiage and it was snowing there,,,too lazy to get outta bed and see if anything is happening. 7 PM. Right now it looks like the really bad stuff won't start until after 9, but as you say it's cutting it close.
yeah staff...problem is usually you look at the radar and say hmmm..thats this many hours away but thats not the case. When you look at radar now, its empty..and might be empty until about 2 hours before it gets cranking..then the off shore low explodes and boom. yes..7pm is cutting it close for delays but not closing the airport..that will happen sometime overnight for a several hours..but you should make it. Might be more of a bitch getting home from the airport than the flight itself.
yep FJF..as I just mentioned to Staff, if you look at whats coming down from pa to nj and up north..nothing much but this was exactly the case. Some models had the sun popping out during the day. This will take over as soon as the coast storm becomes the primary storm..right now its heading towards the VA/NC coast..and it should start getting its act together in the next 2 to 3 hours...heading up towards us by 7 to 10. Still think the hardest snows fall from 11 to 4am.
just loaded my deck with wood..man..friggin cold..and this is nothing..go outside around midnight tonite CBG. I would dare to say 3 minutes outside tonight between the snow and wind and cold...might have to get tweezers to allow the eyes to open again.
Would be starting the fire around 4 cbg but my son has a physical therapy appt that im DYING to get out of but cant right now..lol. He has/had Jersey Finger? Not sure if anyone ever heard of that. Tackling got his finger caught in the jersey of a running back and pulled the tendon from the tip of his finger clear down ending up below his wrist...OUT FOR THE SEASON..missed the last 4 games. Living at the damn therapy place for 2 months now...i cant take it. This ladies office is 85 degrees. She always tells me im too hyper to sit down and relax..i keep pacing just trying not to sweat to death. ANYWAY...Storm on Sunday starts out as MAYBE frozen precip before changing over to rain with temps near 50...MAJOR FLOODING BECAUSE OF THIS SNOW TOO. Temps drop during the afternoon evening from 50 to 20 in about 4 hours. Needless to say...wild times ahead. I really do not see any big storms after that for about a week at least? Still maybe next weekend might change.
