Well if it aint Mitch D. You should have no problem at all unless wherever your plane is coming from is delayed..you should be fine.
and here we go...from central jersey into ny state..how long before it changes to sleet will determine how much. I can see you getting double fjf..unless that dry pool I talked about yesterday for you guys up north. Here in north jersey, we have entered inch an hour snows..will probably get close to 2 inches an hour for a couple hours before it turns to sleet. The minimum number predicted is safe..will be hit by 5 or 6 pm...question is how close, for us, it gets to 10".
5 pm here.....snowing steady but not HEAVY,,,,,,i would say we have 5 inches,,,,could be wrong,,,,but the kids are having a blast,,,,,,and the Xmas lites look very nice  Gonna check out the radar now see what's headed our way,,,,,,keep em coming Jay
yeah..heavy bursts are in 2 sections..first one came through followed by one coming through now..this is the strongest by far...and will last until the sleet..perhaps 3 or 4 hours..this will put people with 4 or 5 to 8 or 10 real fast. be careful FJF.
I just went out with snow blower here in Fair Lawn NJ. There had to be 4-5 inches right now. Trying to get as much done before the change to freezing rain/rain.
Greg...a + bud...good job..thats the idea. Very smart..those that dont will pay with their backs tomorrow.
2..and no joke..maybe 3 inch an hour snows moving towards morris and passaic counties right now..eventually bergen county if it makes it here before the switch to sleet..if it comes during sleet..wow. LINK: follow the bright yellow...wow..thats heavy heavy heavy snow and sleet. http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...&num_stns_max=9999&avg_off=9999&smooth=0&MR=1
Absolutely the right thing to do. Snow blowers are no guarantee with wet heavy snow. I don't want to struggle doing this tomorrow. Want to watch football all day.
Jay What time shall I go out to clean up the snow? I don't have a snow blower so everything is manual here.
Im gonna say 6 inches here,,,,,slowed down for quite a while and is starting up again now,,,,be safe all ps is it still gonna change over here Jay,,,,its friggin freezing out
Brook...I would start as soon as you hear sleet..if not.its going to be real heavy because it will changeover to sleet and then freezing rain. My guess looking at the radar between 10 and 11..but it will still be coming down pretty hard though. Truthfully, thinking about it..anytime after 9 because even if you get a couple inches of snow after that the freezing rain and perhaps even light rain will help out a bit...but do not wait until tomorrow.
No doubt that at some point..I know its hard to believe...21 degrees here and probably under 20 by you right now..but at some point before 1am for you...its going over to sleet and freezing rain. The temps might not say so..that changeover might happens while its only 25 to 28 degrees..but without boring you with temps aloft..its going to happen CBG
Just so you know how much warm air is driving up this way...it was in the mid 20s down the shore..and they expect by 5am to be in the mid 40s...parts of Delaware to be over 50. Now all that warm air will not make it to the ground here..but its coming...everyone will change from snow to sleet.
Heres one for you...44 degrees in Asbury Park N.J....9 degrees in Montague N.J. LINK: http://forums.accuweather.com/uploads/post-15491-1387066877.png check out the temps in new jersey...perhaps never such a disparity ever in my lifetime. Incredible.
