Well I am placing my order now,,,,Fridays work but I believe the 25 th is a Monday and those work for me as well because either way I like 3 day weekends and snow,,,,,c what you can do Jayster:up:
Brush fire in Orangeberg, New York that can be smelt and felt for miles around. Need rain or some thing.
Rain on Sunday here XM...nothing before that. In fact, when I saw the rain scheduled to hit our area on Sunday...not a big storm..I checked up in Buffalo. Interesting day..showers..but the wind..very winday day in Buffalo on Sunday with winds between 15-25 and gusts over 30. Something to keep an eye on!
Well hopefully that helps. My buddy owns a house a few miles from "ground zero" http://nyack.patch.com/groups/polic...ters-continue-to-battle-orangeburg-brush-fire
I can report that I have spoken to my friend who is now in Tacloban City. She said the smell is unbearable as just dead decaying bodies and animal carcases fill the air. Her home was badly damaged possibly beyond repair although her parents have already begun to repair their's as it didn't take on too much damage. She also told me that the Filipino military is useless and that once again the people of the Philippines owe a debt of gratitude to the United States and especially the marines who are restoring order in her city. She also said there are a lot of Japanese assisting as well.
and again, that will go largely unreported by the media. Our military men and women are truly remarkable people all over the world. Great report Barry and hopefully, they can salvage one of the homes to at least get some kind of piece of mind.
I can tell you one more sort of just ridiculous stories. She has told me that the aid packages bear the pictures of politicians who are using this situation in Tacloban City as opportunity to further their political careers. She has also told me that Anderson Cooper has been highly criticized by the local media for reporting the ineptitude of the Filipino military and government also known as the truth.
Cooper has been criticized by the local media? Im guessing its a pro government run media. Good for Cooper..not a fan of his but he does the dirty work. Some big news coming up for us concerning the start of winter. After a major warm up early next week...winter begins next weekend with a small distrubance that might bring us an inch or two...followed by very cold temps for the next two weeks. In fact, the long range models for the next 30 days show below average temps and above average preicp....this equals snow. A storm we really need to watch out for is a couple days before thanksgiving. Storm....AS OF NOW..develops in the gulf of mexico and dumps heavy snow as far south as the hills of S.C...NC...then into Virginia...Maryland...PA...DE....NJ...NY..CONN...RI...MA. You get the drift. The storm is a slow mover and starts Tuesday and ends late Wednesday....giving us a bunch of snow for Thanksgiving. THE CATCH? Heres the deal this year guys. Im was going to not mention every storm that pops up this year on the models way out but that would be no fun at all. So its going to be the phrase of the this winter " THE CHANCES OF THIS HAPPENING ARE BELOW 50% RIGHT NOW" but as of today....the models all show a very big storm. So lets have fun a few weeks out following the models and Im going to keep a percentage in my signature of storms the models show compared to what exactly happens. It will give us a trend of when the models are hitting..and when they are missing. So in a nutshell: Warm next week followed by cold air end of week. Perhaps a few inches of snow a week from today followed by a 2 week period of very cold air starting next weekend. Tuesday before Thanksgiving...the first chance of a major storm for our area.
