Can you at least make it May 22nd? I'll be at Yankee Stadium for my daughter's NYU graduation that day, and would rather it not be 45-50 degrees at the time if that's okay!

And I just checked the Euro model and yes...warm temperatures do arrive Monday and Tuesday...only to be followed by flooding rains and diving temps Wednesday through Sunday..temps in the 40's and 30's with some areas even getting mixed rain and snow north and west.

I wish I could say April fools but I wouldn't have even checked that far out of CMAN hadnt mentioned it. Lets just hope that this is not the case. Holy crap.

Great weather MR....AGREE. Too bad it gets cool the next 3 days with a decent amount of rain on Friday..but then spring comes back big time next week again.

Was looking at the future cast for Hurricanes this summer and while it might be a bit below normal, the strength of the Hurricanes is supposed to be high. Showed 5 Cat 3 or higher which is a lot.

Will keep an eye on that. Huge thunderstorms came through tonite and that is the beginning of the cool down. Should get progressively cooler the next 3 days before the rebound.

    Hope everyone is doing great!

    Jay

How far out are you able to look to assess the hurricanes?

All's good here Jay. Spawn should be in full swing by next weekend and I'm scheduled for a striper trip on the 27th. In the meantime, I've been a bit busy with the smoker..

Here's a quick view of my last project:

Like most that follow, you check the waves coming off the coast of Africa....where most of the strong ones start as waves...but you can also get the pop up ones of the coast of Southeast US..and the Gulf.

Always hard to see where the end up but with steering currents, you can make a quick assessment if they can threaten the USA 7-10 days in advance.

Very rare that you see one where the currents a week out show it heading for the U.S. only to know it will curve south of Bermuda and go northeast and not hit anyone. Very rare that as it gets closer it does something else.

Once they then get to within 48-72 hours striking distance is where you can get hundreds of miles swings.

While nobody wants any damage or anyone harmed..the actually tracking of these is enjoyable...and we will post when there looks to be something that will head to the U.S. once the margin is over 25%.

Jay the weatherman: did you see that amazing display in the sky at high noon today??

Full circle halo rainbow due to a fine layer of dispersed water vapor at high altitude. I've never seen anything like it before in my life, never knew such a thing was possible

Holy shit. Moore Oklahoma SLAMMED by a two mile-wide tornado. An entire neighborhood including two schools and a hospital have been reduced to piles of rubble.

This is really awful, dozens of school children have been reported dead and the count will only increase as they sift through all the rubble.

Horrible year MR...horrible. Its amazing how the same areas get hammered with these tornados. Really horrible.

The crazying thing about storms this time of year in that area is that his is a huge system that is literally crawling. When the sun goes down the precip dries out only to form about 150 miles east the next day. Typical daylight heating.

This system will move west to east all the way to the coast by Friday and although tornados are not common for the east coast...dont be surprised with this system.

    Sad sad day...terrible
