Just finished shoveling the 1st 4-8 that fell already here in NNJ Corona time then, I'll do it all again tomorrow
This is the worst storm I've seen since the winter of '78. I was in Mass back then just outside of Boston and we got 18 inches and then 10 inches about a week later. We had snow piled up 10 and 12 feet high in natural drifts against the side of buildings that time.
lol...good stuff Jake. Well, northeast of NJ...CONN, RI,MASS, SOUTHERN MAINE..clobber city bud. Im sure we will here many 18+ stories mixed in with several 2 footers. Hell of a storm.
Hope so Brook..will see if I can get any more updates for you. There is one extremely heavy band that is heading from sussex/warren county now dropping down towards Morris, Passaic etc area. I would not be surprised if that band dumps another 3 inches of snow. I have 11 now..and will surely pass a foot. Still snowing hard but looking at the radar...there is light at the end of the tunnel finally for NNJ. I would think once that passes through at around 2am...perhaps light snow for another 2 hours and this thing wraps up around 5am.

Wow I fell asleep along with my whole family by the fireplace and we are all moseying to bed now at 140 a m and we GOT ALOT of snow,,,,I just looked outside,,,not sure how much , I might get my second wind and take a step out there but oh my it is pretty high! Going to go take a looksie be back shortly.
Earlier today I used the snowblower and then a few hours later I shoveled in front of my garage ,,,I actually just went out there at this crazy hour and there is a lot of snow and it is still coming down pretty hard and it's after 2 a m. Weather channel is saying that it ain't done just yet and Boston and Conn are getting crazy off the chart amounts until hours from now ! Nice job again Jay Wayne on this storm ,,,,,it's been a doozy and not done yet ! Be safe all and stay warm
Wow...great CBG...and thanks. Amazingly, with all the late snow, my 10-14 prediction did ok..although I did wobble a few times and think higher. I really felt there was a chance of closer to 20 but it got off to such a shitty start. Prediction numbers right or wrong...really dont care. What i truly enjoy is seeing something on a model a week or even two weeks out and picking it to do good. And after a mini slump this might make up for it. Lets see how I do this week because potential exists for Wednesday/Thursday and next weekend and then another one the following week. Three potentials...really havent paid close attention but will do some time tomorrow.

So the count is now up to two branches, one large and one that would have made me nervous if the large one was not there, sitting in about 18 inches of snow on my porch. On the bright side I have had power all the way through with flickers here and there and two 5 second intervals of no power where it instantly came back. I'm guessing I have about an hours work to get out my door in the morning but I'm sure other people have had it much worse.
Jay do you have a site that gives snow total amounts ? I am going to look for one now . Also the weather / temps look a little warmer during the week how does or will that effect your valentines possible storm ? Ps if you hate snow this is a good time to be in Disney ,,,,,if you luv snow this is a good time to be us :up:
