Hey Jay, What's the forecast for tomorrow (Eastern CT both inland and near the shore). The forecast I heard this morning says 2-5 inland and 5 near the shore.
Hey M...that sounds right. Now the only thing you might have to watch and its a good thing..is that the coast may have a chance of mixing with sleet and rain which might flip the numbers..closer to 4 inland and a bit less along the coast. Here in Jersey the numbers have flipped already...closer to the coast was supposed to get more..and they will precip wise..but again...because the storm has trended closer to the coast...the coast will have mixing issues..and lower totals. Where in Eastern Ct? Inland where.
Going to get much cooler there next week...here in NYC highs will not hit 30 Thursday or Friday. I expect that cold front to make it through most of FL. Could see temps go down another 15-20
Latest update on this storm is that 3-5 looks good for north Jersey and I would lean towards the higher number. Some areas might go over 5. Along the coast where they were thought to get more...there will be mixing issues but thats for only right along the coast.
Hey M...here is a forecast from the NWS for New London..you can see why I dont believe those higher numbers East may verify: Snow, mainly after 10am. High near 38. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Saturday Night Snow, mainly before 3am. Low around 27. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Sunday A slight chance of snow showers before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. Breezy, with a northwest wind 13 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. HIgh on Saturday 38? Could be wrong but this storm is making it tougher for the coast to get the bigger numbers. Could be wrong.
Just a quick look at the latest models..I think the NWS is underdone in their predictions by a bit..calling for 3-5 inland from NYC ....Wouldnt be surprised to see a more 5-7 for most parts of Northern Jersey..and def for interior Conn.
thanks Jay. i live in Columbia which is about halfway up the state, but we have to go to my in laws in Norwich for xmas stuff.
I am in buffalo,,,,they got about a foot or more the other day,,,it's snowing rite now,,,,,and I am not sure but looks like another inch or 2 for Sunday,,,and yes I will be at the game,,,,hope u guys that luv snow ( Jay, Cman ) and the rest of you get some !keep the updates coming Jay as I will not be here 4 Eva ,,,unless of ourselves I get snow bound
Think I did pretty good with this one...was wondering from Murrell what the coast got since they were calling for more on the coast than inland. Looked to me like the coast would have some mixing issues. Nothing really on the horizon except..cold..and then colder. Starting with the next few days..and then really kicking up the freezer middle of the week. Highs in the 20's and lows in the single digits Wed, Thur, Fri. Next shot at snow looks like around a week from Monday. Might have some snow showers on New Years Eve but nothing much.
We are so close to an event on Sunday but two systems need to merge and they just come so close...but never do...which is why instead of a nice snow storm the forecast is a chance of flurries. Will keep an eye if anything changes. Other than that...Jan. 8 is possible but right now..near miss. Jan 11th and Jan 15th very possible..but right now..a waste of very cold air that we have had for almost a week. Cold air and no snow is a disaster....if it aint gonna snow...who the hell likes the cold...not me. Will keep an eye out!
I'm moving to PA... and I don't mind the cold too much. You can always put more clothes on, you can only git naked once. So Jay, I'll be bugging you for PA forecasts now, not LI!
Jay ,,,,,it s winter, supposed to be cold NOT warm,,,,and I am with you it is SUPPOSED to SNOW !,,,merge baby merge Sunday
I'll ask my brother in law what they got. We left Norwich when the snow started to stick to the road. We ended up with 8 inches at my house in Columbia.
TBJ...making the move to PA..well at least it should be cold there. CBG...I know...I really hate the cold..unless the white stuff falls from the sky. Murrell..yeah I was just curious if you got more than them because they were predicting it the opposite right? Coast getting more than inland but I think I mentioned it would start off as rain at the coast..so maybe a reversal. No big deal. Ok..quick update..no merge on Sunday but perhaps snow showers with a dusting Sunday morning.....THEN...WARM AND WARMER. Temps get into the 50's end middle end of next week. THEN between 1-14 and 1-17 it will happen...a snow storm. Putting the rep on the line with this one. A few models have shown it and the models that do not are showing a pattern that will not exist...SOOOO...snowstorm. Lets see. 2 weeks out..either a major coup...or a major flop. And since this is weather and stuff thread...whats with the tattoo Rex...with Sanchez on his arm? Is it me or is that really really really weird.
gonna be in the 40s and 50s for a while here. no snow for you idiots who like it . Spring is right around the corner. No snow this year
Won't be long before I'm stalking Belmar, NJ again too for Sea Bass and Stripers.. If it's not gonna snow, then let's just skip winter and go right into springtime!
