If Shaw came to the Jets then I would like to see them also draft Kevin Hogan, kid looks like he can adapt well to the NFL game. I'm not saying to take him with the first pick, but maybe in the 3rd round, I would go OL, WR, QB, and whoever is BPA after that.
And I believe this whole Harbaugh thing comes down to 4 teams: Oakland New York Atlanta Miami They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Oakland offers the luxury of not having to move, the Jets offer Harbaugh a chance to bring in his own quarterback. Thats the one big advantage the Jets have, if he goes to the other three, he is likely adopting Ryan, Carr or Tannenhill. To me Miami is the least favorite, if he is going to move across the country he would be better off taking Ryan over Tannenhill. Also last time the Miami owner made a huge push for Harbaugh while Sparano was under contract, and he failed to get them. I dont see anything difference this time around, and I am not being biased either. The other situation is that Miami and Atlanta are in playoff races, so if they both get in, they might be forced to retain their head coach. (Atlanta's slightly different, they probably need to get in and win a playoff game or two). So my rooting interest is for the Dolphins to make the playoffs so they retain Philbin (who I think sucks), and for the Falcons to make the playoffs. Its possible that it comes down to the Jets and the Raiders, which Schefter just confirmed on ESPN. I don't root for losing but the Jets need to lose out, this is franchise changing stuff here, getting Harbaugh would be like the equivalent of getting an Andrew Luck. The guy is just extremely good at what he does and could turn the Jets around immediately.
A few minutes ago on ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown, Adam Schefter talked about Harbaugh situation. He said per a league source Oakland and Jets are two teams inquiring about a trade for him. But he also said, there is a chance if SF makes the play offs, he might get an extension.
Its pretty much this, the Jets offer something that Oakland does not, or do they? would Oakland draft another QB? hmmm.... I think Harbaugh would prefer Mariota.....
He ain't getting a fuckin extension lol the GM there hates him. There is no way they keep him around. And hell yeah about the Jets!!! Fire Rex right now if that means Harbaugh comes in here.
Imagine we start next year with Harbaugh at coach and Mariota/Winston on our roster. Wow, would we be headed in the right direction lol
Don't really know how things are in SF. Maybe the owner decides on if he stays or goes? Anything can happen. But I am sure Woody will pay anything to get Harbaugh if SF decides to trade him. I don't give Oakland a chance just because SF might not want him in the area. Better for SF to ship him out to East Coast.
That would be a dream scenario. And if that happens, for one, I will hop on the Season Ticket bandwagon. I am sure there will be a lot of folks like me. One thing is for sure, with Harbaugh and Mariota, Jets will be far entertaining than the Giants.
His problems with upper management go as far as the owner. There is very bad blood there. And that's a great point about Oakland. The best thing SF could do is send him over to the East Coast. It all will come down to what is offered obviously.
Its pretty bad, the issue is that Harbaugh wants full control, he wants to pick the roster. The GM does not want him to, the GM wants to continue to pick the roster as he has over the past couple seasons. I dont know their infrastructure, but I am not sure if Harbaugh has actually picked players, so he might need to prove that he can. It sounds like the GM has had full control of the roster.....who knows.....
Like I said, start over completely, new GM, new Head Coach, new QB, new Jerseys, new logo....... Before. Harbaugh. - After. Harbaugh.
Yeah but Harbaugh has to want to go and from everything we've heard, he's a west coast guy, his wife loves it there and if he goes to any east coast team it'd be Miami. THAT would suck. _
