Rex does have 2 Championship games in a row, but Harbaugh has an active streak of 4. It will probably end this year, but they've been killed by injuries, and a little bit to aging. He's not going to get let go because of his coaching results, so why wouldn't we jump here? The guy is successful, and it seems evident that we need some structure, and for guys to actually be ready to play consistently.
I mean seriously, all the guy does is win, win and win. Yes, their team looks a bit flat this year but I think a lot of that has to do with all the friction between Harbaugh and management/ownership. Also they lost 3 of the best defensive players in the league for much of the season in Bowman, Smith and Willis. He will be scooped up in a millisecond once done with the Niners. This is the kind of proven, big name winner the Jets should be all over.
I think Harbaugh needs to come with a new GM though still. Both should be on the same page, unless Idzik improves his credibility that much towards the end of the yr
Hopefully Harbaugh tells Woody he doesn't want to work with Idzik and we kill two birds with one stone.
Lol he is not working with idzik for sure. He wants full control of a nfl team, he and the gm in San Fran hate each other because Harbaugh has wanted certain players... If Harbaugh wants full control of the team, give it to him, what the heck, really. Nothing else works for this franchise anyway....
And Harbaugh is using Michigan as leverage. So yes we will see reports that he might be going their but in the end he won't.
Harbaugh is the closest thing out there to a coaching candidate who could help the Jets pick up the pieces. Fire Idzik, throw a bunch of money at Harbaugh, let him shop for the groceries. Three years and this team should be back on its feet.
Even if he stays in the NFL why come here and work for Idiotzik? I would fucking love Jim Harbaugh as HC of the NYJ.
Even then we would be searching for a new GM before HC though, Jim would probably land a job before we were even ready to make an offer..... At this point I wouldn't be opposed to offering Harbaugh the HC and GM title hahaha.
You guys are completely speculating. You don't know how he would feel working with Idzik, or if Idzik will even be here, and it's still week 13. For now let's just concentrate on losing games! (And rooting for them to lose to ensure his firing)
I'm sure most of us are, but part of the off-season is draft position, and that is very much up in the air.
No one's coming here to work for idzik, especially considering the roster sucks and their would be a strong possibility that idzik and coach get fired after next season. Whoever idzik does bring in, will not be anyone on the top of the list like harbaugh, gase, bevel or shaw...
