Successful NFL coaches don't just go back to college.

If it was Harbaugh that wants out it would be reported as Harbaugh is going to leave because he is tired of the organization. But what is being said clearly is that he will be gone because the organization has tired of him.

that certainly is not discussing it as being Harbaugh's decision and is justifying the claim that Harbaugh will be gone because the organization is tired of him.

Bring in Harbaugh and give him a major say in player personnel.

On defense, it wouldn't be a major transition and he's a QB guru on offense.

Because they know he's a great coach so no reason to tank the season when you won't have access to a great replacement or time to implement a new system even if you did.

If he can get them a championship this year then great, they will tolerate him for the year. But regardless if he does or not they are ready to move on after the season.

they were saying this morning that his wife absolutely doesn't want to leave the bay area and as such he is interested in the Raiders job...thats why he didn't go to cleveland last offseason.

If that's true it will be hard to convince him to come to NY, but at the same time the fucking raiders? Also the struggle has been over power there. You can Idzik and offer him the GM/HC job and that might be enough to convince him. Not saying that's the greatest idea or not but that might be what it takes.

I doubt he is stupid enough to take this crap job when he could probably make twice as much coaching the Florida Gators next season.

Honestly it's the only way. The reason I've been saying Woody needs to grow a pair at this point in time is because if he wants a Harbaugh type then he's going to have to roll out the red carpet for him. Woody needs Harbaugh a lot more than Harbaugh needs Woody. If he's done in SF this year he will be the premiere HC on the market and will be scooped up soo quickly.

If Woody wants to get this right he's going to have to get off his throne and woo a big name here. They're not going to reach out to him.

Woody is a directionless heir to a fortune and he has absolutely nothing to do with it's success.

Read about him. Get over the charity shit and actually read about this goofball.

He's a social misfit in the upper crust. He is desperately in need of approval. I will leave out the wife drama and the sad suicide of his lesbian daughter, but the guy is anything but what you would want in the owner of a professional football team.

He's basically an 18 year old in the body of a senior citizen, and this team is his hobby. I'm sure he would call it something else, but that is exactly what it is.

    Look at the fucking guy.

This is seriously the last thing we need...... To go from a total players coach, to a total hard ass just isn't smart...... The players won't deal with it well at all. Besides, what's gonna happen when snacks stops getting his cupcakes for working out?

Not even gonna get my hopes up about Harbaugh. No way he'd ever agree to run this train wreck.

I think he goes back to college.

Getting him, and Mariota would be golden imo. That's my main goal of the offseason.

Well IMO harbaugh is a deft combination of Mangini and Ryan - just what the jets need these days, huh?
I do think he'll get pursued by Johnson and he just may be the guy - if enough promises and money are laid in front of him.
It would be a boom and/or bust hire - just like Ryan - which is a tad risky for the jets. Not really sure what I would do.

Miami was another team that was going to pursue him big time. It will be funny if they do Philbin, the same way they did Sparano (pursue a coach despite having a coach hired).

I would love for the Jets to get him but Atlanta has to be quite tempting, especially with the way that division has fallen (similar to the NFC West before Harbaugh came in).

I don't think he goes back to college at all. Jim Harbaugh is not a failure as an NFL HC - why would he leave the highest level of competition to go back to college?

We should def go after him.
