Two things I didn't consider in my last post: 1. Thomas won't be available to the Jets until after the draft so he's not going to limit any decisions. 2. He can play DE and OLB. Still, the only way I can see the Jets bringing in both guys is if we miss out on a DE and need another body in there for the rotation.
Well were probably gonna need 2 DEs to rotate in. I mean our one end I dont even know who is gonna start, then we got Ellis who is getting old on the other side. Id put money on us drafting 1 DE, but I dont know if wed draft 2 of em. At least that way wed have someone to rotate in on both left and right end. Although Taylor could also be rotated in @ DE as well.
We only need to bring in one. We would have Ellis, DeVito, Pouha. Pitoitua, and the rookie. Plus, we have Steinkuhler and Kroul to develop on the PS. Taylor would get killed rotating in as a DE on a 3-4. We'd be better served putting Gholston in there.
Its nice how none of the young kids are not liabilities when they saw the field. The scheme and confidence of the CS to groom these kids does wonders for the Jets in the draft and with the depth. Ropati will see more time this year, as will Westermann. I think both provide solid play when giving someone a break this year.
Where'd you get that idea? He's not meeting with the Dolphins and the Jets told him that they have to have decision before the Draft. I think he's heading back to the states early next week.
He's coming back Monday and I heard Steve Wyche say that he's frustrated with the Dolphins but will wait until after the draft to make a decision despite his agent's advice to take our offer. Honestly, this shit is making me like this guy even less but I would still like to know what the hell this guy wants before the draft.
Yep, he lands back in the U.S. monday......I suspect we'll hear he's signing with us on Tuesday or Wednesday, and if we don't, he likely signs with the fish after the draft.
From his perspective though, he has to realize that there's a good chance that both the Dolphins and Jets draft OLBs in the draft so it's in his best interest to sign with a team before the draft.
I wonder if Woody Johnson said "Let's make Fins fans cry by winning a SB and having Jason Taylor on the team." I think Finheaven's servers would explode, along with the heads of many Fin Fans.
I think it's more likely Tanny, Petine, Rex and co. sat down and analysed last season, snd quickly recognized improving the pass rush had to be one of our top priorities for the off season, and came to the realisation that Taylor would be one of the most cheapest and easiest ways to do that. Doesn't cost us any picks, doesn't cost us much money.....it just costs us a roster spot.
Just let taylor go away. If he can not make a timely response let the ass look for money somewhere else. It is not that hard Taylor retire or sign with the jets no time to make a decision your own team does not want your acted. For the life of me I hate him and the way the jets are handling him but them let TJ and Jay walk and both of these guys were team guys and taylor is not. Way to show your gratitude. (I know TJ needed to go) but come on guys.
