I read in an article a while ago that woody was not making money off the jets until he got his stadium. He paid so much for the jets that until he got the stadium deal.He was losing money on the jets...I think thats why he is stacking up on talent. And it is not like when leon hess stacked up on over the hill vets.(monk,lott,o'donnell,Etc....)
Darren sharper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEY asked HIM not to talk about it, he didnt ask them not to talk about it. then THEY decided to talk about it. the fact that they talked about it has no bearing on them asking HIM not to talk about it. so he gets mad and goes stomping off on his vacation, and now he is going to sign with the jets to spite them for not checking with him? the following is not directed at you, its a general comment. its funny that people will stand up for jason taylor in this case but get mad at guys on our own team because we dont like what they are doing with their contracts. or because they arent happy about how they are being treated in negotiations.
Generally speaking, if you ask someone not to talk about something, it's accepted that it is a matter you want to remain secret. To turn around and leak it to the press is completely deceitful.
chris mortenson reported this morning on 1050 espn osi uminyora could be moved. miami san diego and st louis where interested. if we snag taylor they will fill his spot with osi. why dont we snag osi????
Pretty big faith based move. He's never played in the 3-4, so it would depend on the price. He's not a long term solution either. Both guys would be a temporary fix. The difference is, Taylor wouldn't cost anything.
We shouldn't snag Osi because: 1. We don't need to trade away the draft picks. 2. He's 28 years old(29 if November) and he has never played in a 3-4. 3. He's about as good, if not worse, against the run as Taylor is. 4. He's probably more expensive than Taylor. I'm really not too worried about Osi in Miami. All that would mean is a 100% success rate for every running play we send right at him.
He is cheap and he can dance.....sounds like a great guy ( reaches for white wine spritzer and danielle steel novel)
With rumors that Taylor is in the bag, do you think its realistic that we get Taylor AND Thomas? I saw this on Rotoworld and he seems pissed at the Pats organization and id say its virtually guaranteed he gets released this off season.
NFL is confirming that Taylor will not meet with the Phins this coming week. Report: Dolphins called off meeting with Taylor
So... OLB: Calvin Pace Bryan Thomas Jamal Westerman Jason Taylor Adalius Thomas Vernon Gholston(Still counts) Kenwin Cummings ILB: Bart Scott David Harris Lance Laury ...and that's not counting the OLB pass rusher which is a strong possibility. I'm going to say we won't pick up both due to age and roster space.
Well there was a rumor about Bryan Thomas being traded possibly. If ditching him meant getting Taylor/Adalius and a 5th~ round pick or something that might not be so bad
If we've got: OLB Calvin Pace Adalius Thomas Jason Taylor Vernon Gholston Bryan Thomas Jammal Westerman Kenwin Cummings There's no way we aren't cutting or trading multiple players. I don't think any team in the league has that many players listed as OLBs. If I were to take a guess, I'd say that we would trade B Thomas and cut either Cummings or Westerman (moving one to the inside).
Starting to seem like JT isn't going to make a decision until after the draft. Man I hope both the Dolphins and us draft a pass rusher and tell that guy to fuck off.
