Jason taylor is gonna be a Jet and Leon probably isn't. Hard to swallow for me but my opinion does not count. We better win this year cause we're going all IN!

I think if Taylor does sign, Tanny will go after a CB/S in round 1.

I just think Rex still has the Indy game on his mind. He probably believes that he can get a pass rush with what he has and he will want to load up on DBs. I kinda see it the other way (need more pressure, even with JT) but I wouldn't be upset at all with a stud DB.

No we're not. The majority of our key players are young.

They will be built to win now...they will probably trade up for Berry or Thomas.

    *end dream*

I'm sure that game is sticking in his (and every Jet's) craw, as it should. I think that with Cromartie, it moves everyone else down the chain one spot, where they probably belong. I'm with you that a better pass rush is at least as, if not more, important than that other CB.

As this team is positioning itself for a run now and in the future, I think there are more pressing needs at the end of the 1st round, like DE.

Although Safety is a need, I just don't think the Jets have the ammo to get high enough to grab an elite safety.

I'd say DE or Iupati if he falls. Grab a safety for the rotation later.

If they get Taylor and somehow manage to snag Berry in the process I literally might explode. Berry IMO has the chance to be the best player in the draft. If Rex got his hands on him there is no doubt he'd be one of them.

I would hope whether we sign him or not it has no affect on the draft at all. We are not drafting for 2010, we are drafting for the next 5-10 years and taylor will likely be here a year or at max 2 years.

What the hell is wrong with Cannizaro and the NY Post?

In today's paper he managers to write articles about Jason Taylor and the Jets with the following headlines:

"Jason Taylor not close to making a decision about joining Jets"

    "Taylor to Jets getting closer"

    Unbelievable...

it will be crazy to hear

"The 7th pick in the NFL draft has been traded to the New York Jets...The Jets are on the clock...The Jets select..."

I think every jets fan in the country would explode in ecstasy if they managed to get up there without giving up our entire future...

A week before the draft, you can pretty much ignore anything that Tannenbaum says.

If our draft plans are altered b/c we sign Taylor then we are nuts. I know we have a better GM than to do something foolish like that.

I wish he would sign already. I'm sick and tired of googling "Jason Taylor" and seeing all his faggy pictures pop up. My coworkers are going to start to wonder.

He said it could be a tie-breaker if two guys are essentially equal.

I've got no problem with that.

Your draft plans are always changed by roster moves. Signing Taylor could do a number of things:

    1) Allow the Jets to package Bryan Thomas in order to move up in round 1 for a OLB.

    2) Allow the Jets to select DE in round 1 and wait for a project OLB in round 2 or 3 or even lower.

    3) Allow the Jets to stand pat at OLB and concentrate on other areas, using Taylor as OLB stopgap so we can wait until 2011 to draft a OLB early.

I'm surprised that the concept is lost on you, junc. It's called Logistics. By the way, if you're going to listen to what Tanny says, he also said that the pickups this year so far have afforded the Jets the ability to draft for value instead of need. I would say that this is a classic case of 'altered draft plans', wouldn't you?

That has always been Tannenbaum's plan. He uses the FA to fill needs then uses the draft to get the BPA. I wouldn't call it "altered draft plans"
