game ball def goes to Jarrett. and an honorable mention to Graham. who would've thought those would be our 2 impact players of the game?
i think you have to keep rolling Jarrett out there. it was nice having a safety in position for a change. a couple mistakes will get him yanked right out, so hopefully he can keep in position and make more plays..
Allen has played very little ( if at all ) in this role this season. Part of AAs problem is being bounced around to much by shifting of the depth chart. He's a solid player for a 7th round pick, We just misused him and probably got his psyche all messed up from trying to face top WRs/QBs while learning a new position. While I agree JJ looked good out there, It's not like he replaced AA 1 for 1 and did a better job,.. They're not even remotely being asked to do the same thing.
Just read somewhere that Jarrett had the third highest grade for a safety in a game EVER according to Pro Football Focus.... that's one way to win a game, but we can't expect it every time.
Allen isn't a starting saftey,he's a good depth guy in a minimal role ,Will see if Jarrett can do it again next week maybe he has turned some kind of corner in his carrer. This is only his third year in the league so there's hope here
10 tackles,a sack,a fumble recovery, and two ints, that has to be one of the best games by a Jets saftey in franchise history no?
You have to understand though that Allen was going back, and forth between safety and CB for most of the year. Last year he played better probably. I still have a lot of faith in AA. He has made plays plenty of times. He isn't perfect in coverage, but he at worst, imo deserves to be a rotating safety.
Would have been dirty pool if he hadn't. 10 tackles, a sack, a fumbrec and 2 picks. Hard to argue with that.
He was drafted by the Eagles in 2011, so this is his 4th year, although he barely saw the field in 2012 which might be what you meant. I seem to remember his name coming up in Collision Low Crossers as someone the Jets were quite high on around draft time.
