Have you ever seen any team have an offseason like that and that many trades? I wonder why...this is real life and tons of money and players this isnt Madden. Love the effort as i think overall the team is much improved but wont happen
We are going all in with Stafford. We want to win a SB within four years so age should not be an issue.
Good mock Hasty! A lot of moving parts though. Stafford I feel will be going to a team that is on the cusp of the playoffs or an actual playoff team. He would be a perfect fit for the Saints but I’m not sure they can afford him...
all that unrealistic trading ? c'mon, man. I like the less commonly spoken of QB solutions like Stafford. cos it's quite doable. I also like the less commonly talked about trade down and take Lance or Trask or Mac or the kid from wake forest
This. The Lions have said they are working with Stafford on where he wants to go. There is ZERO chance the 2-14 Jets are on his list.
I think the draft choices in this mock are exacty the kinds of players the Jets should be looking at. However, I would like to see more resources put up for WR and less for RB. Also think that it would be incredible to have this many trades of that scope, particularly since many of the trades that wouldn't work well with our youth movement.
Speaking of the youth movement I did not trade away any future draft picks or front load any contracts. This team should be able to fill holes with plenty of draft picks going forward.
Why wouldn't the Texans just trade with us. We currently have the #2. I'm really not following the logic. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Because we are too smart to give them their asking price when we could get Matt Stafford much, much cheaper.
While the OPs idea of us trading the 2 for the 3 with Miami is ridiculous I will answer your question. Caseiro has a relationship with Flores and Belichick and I doubt he wants to sour either as in a few years he will likely be looking for work. The Jets are likely at the bottom of the list of teams he would want to help while Miami is at the top.
I agree we are too smart to give them their asking price but who's to say a) what that asking price will be and b) what the actual final price will be. This also assumes Miami wants to trade for Watson. They may not and would rather Bradford while That sits for a few years. The only way I want Bradford is if we also draft a QB (this draft) to replace him in a few years. Otherwise I'm out. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I hear what you are saying but the Jets and Pats have traded before and I've seen the Sox and Yankees trade with each other. At the end of the day money (trade value) talks and bullshit walks. If the Jets offer a superior package I can't see Houston accepting less just because it would piss off Belichick, who probably only has a few years left of NFL in him anyway. Just my 2 cents. We start at a disadvantage and will have to pay more maybe grossly more. Relationships matter and Caseiro grew up hating the Jets. It would likely take a pretty lopsided deal for him to break loyalty with Flores and Belichick. But then again the price required might not be that great. If you look at the last big name QB who got traded. It was Cutler in 2009 who had a similar season in 2008 to Watson and was just as highly regarded throwing for 4500 yards in his third year. The Bears gave up 1500 trade value points plus Kyle Orton or a little more than 1/2 of what the 2nd picks 2600 value is worth. Who knows how much Watson is worth but I think the media, particularly Darryl Slater, is grossly inflating the compensation that will be required in its quest to maximize page hits.
