Anyone got the details on why Russell was selected #1 overall in the first place? Not trolling, just got curious as to why he was valued so highly at one point in time and stats never tells the whole story.
Is this a Hello magazine? Have the Jets been caught flirting and holding hands with a fatty? Cheating on their GQ Guy. less than a year chasing a really wealthy man, and caught in bed with baby Jesus. man Were one giant whore house.
Mark Sanchez career QB rating: 71.7 JaMarcus Russell career QB rating: 65.2 And Sanchez was on better teams...
this was written about Russell Wilson from last years senior bowl: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/fee...h-who-hurt-their-draft-stock-during-practices
Sure but don't base everything on the senior bowl, every year we see guys rise and fall based ont he senior bowl but it doesn't guarantee success or failure.
well i should of been more clear then, my b. to me, glennon doesn't look like a first round prospect ( and i know we all agree on that, but if the jets are seriously talking to him it sounds like they might want him in the first round ). im just saying ive seen his games before and his mechanics just die once the pocket collapses and i thought the senior bowl might do him some good. it didnt
I don't think talking to him means they are using a 1st rd pick on him. I don't think there is any chance we take a QB in the 1st round.
i hope not, but when they are "seriously" talking to him and he's more than likely going in the first round, i just assume if they wanted to take him it'd be in the first round whatever, its silly to speculate on this anyways. im sure they talk to a lot of players in depth
Fair enough Armand, for now let's just agree to disagree. I know O'Brian was canned before their bowl game (weird) and the complaints about him and his OC seemed to be the same complaints they had with him at BC: too vanilla & predictable. Wonder why'd they go vanilla then with a big-armed QB? I'm just getting the impression Gannon's being hyped up (in a QB soft class) to be this year's Blaine Gabbert. And while he's got a good arm the one thing that really stuck out to me was that brutally "underthrown bomb" (off a very late read) INT against Vandy: it looked just like Sanchez' late read/underthrown bomb pick for Braylon vs. Tennessee. So many roster holes to fill so I'd rather the Jets hold off to see what QB's flush out in 2014.
There's a very good chance Glennon won't be there at #9. Buffalo or Arizona might bite the bullet before the NYJ can.
With all due respect I hope that happens - means another choice sitting there. JaMarcus Russell trivia: Russell was hurt during the '05 SEC Championship game (a loss to Ga. 34-14) which 'pitted' them in the Peach Bowl vs. Miami. Replacing Russell that bowl game was Matt Flynn. LSU won 40-3.
Bullshit. He would've gone 1st overall regardless of the team picking. He was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school and always had talent, plus he had a monster of an arm, even bigger than Cutler or Favre and he was (and still is) big physically. Like an even bigger Big Ben. If he would've had the effort to combine with his talent, there's no doubt Raiderjoe would be feeding us crow about Russell and the Raiders.
Jamarcus Russel Appearently we worked him out. Hopefully we don't do anything stupid. Here's a link. http://m.nfl.com/news/0ap1000000132152/
