    While you are technically correct

It’s just hard to dog the only guy who cares

If the other 21 had his motor and desire, he wouldn’t have to wrap up........the play would have never happened

My feeling is that if he wants to talk about the mentality that others on the team has, then he needs to take care of his own first. That was a clear case of wanting to make a highlight reel instead of wanting to help the team by making the tackle.

I'm not so sure about that, though it could all be relative. I remember back when we had Revis, people were arguing that he could only shut down one person, whereas a high caliber safety was much more impactful. I do wonder if, since the retirement of Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu, people have forgotten how impactful a safety can be. I'd argue that on defense, after edge rusher, a high caliber MLB (Kuechly, Willis) or safety (Reed, Polamalu, Earl Thomas) is the next most impactful position.

Unfortunately, we haven't had an edge rusher in yonks, so having talent elsewhere is a bit moot.

Whether it's truly genuine or not, at least Jamal is saying all the right things out in the open.

We finally found someone to cover Gronk & now he’ll likely go & ruin the WWE once Shady retires.

Jamal Adams is leading safety probowl votes - pretty much one of the few players worth a damn on this team

Was any team ever successful building around a safety?

Add the Legion of Boom with that Earl Thomas / Kam Chancellor combo. Chargers D ran through Weddle for the longest time.

No team builds around a safety but many super bowl teams have had a great one.

    He's incredible.

Jets are lucky to have him. He seems to be the total package talent, intangibles etc. I'll go as far as to say he may be the best safety in football already. Who else is out there now? Adams could be that guy already the current standard by which his position is measured.

Only going by his conditioning I'll say I think Adams prime will last much, much longer than Revis did.

I don't know how seriously Revis took his conditioning which could explain why his prime was so short.

He's playing at an all-pro level. Macc really got lucky when he fell to him at 6

Mahomes still would've made a bigger impact.

How much bigger would his impact have been behind the Jets OL and a center who couldn't snap the ball because of an injury? Add to the the worst receivers in the league and maybe the worst OC. Would all of that have made any difference?

Absolutely! Would he been as successful as he is now? Of course not! But he would've been at least as good as Sam has been, and I think better, but even if only as good, he would still be at the beginning of his upward development and as the team improved, so would he. And the team would've been able to more quickly improve because they wouldn't have had to trade away 3 prime draft picks, plus they wouldn't have needed to use this year's pick on a QB and could've taken a pass rusher or OL or stud skill position. So, yes, taking Mahomes instead of Adams would've made a bigger impact IMO.
