man this kid is so good and people are shitting on him and mac for picking him lol that 3rd play is something you expect from a seasoned vet not a 2nd year safety pre snap - fakes inside blitz post snap, drops back to the line to gain, know where he is, watches the QB, sees where the QB is going and gets in position to keep the play in front of him, waits for the QB to fire so he doens't get pump faked then darts to the target and arives right after the ball, wraps him up and makes the tackle to force the punt. doens't get more textbook then that.
While Jamal isn't the best in coverage, I just can't stand watching him blitz every single down. He is very effective against the run, but I do not like him playing where he does. He should be in center field and crashing down on runs plays or helping in coverage. Perhaps getting in a crossing routes lane??
I give him credit - when he was interviewed on the field after the game by Jeane Coakley and she tried to get him to bite on "New Jack City" he immediately responded "It was ugly. I'm not going to lie to you, it was ugly." He knows that the defense played poorly, even with the turnovers. He also has to know that he has trouble in coverage of tall receivers and tight ends (as Willie Colon pointed out in the post-game).
Ebron really didn't do much, the Jets have covered the hell out of TE's and RB's this year...now covering the slot WR's (Jets give up a ton to guys in the slot) seems to be the biggest issue.
I'm glad he owned it, because our defense was terrible yesterday. I'm happy we pulled out the game and all but the D was killing me all day. Well the D and a wee bit too much yuengling
MoGriff I guess that depends what someone thinks " didn't do much " means-----Ebron came in hurt and almost did not play and went 4-71 with one TD and the other 2 tight ends caught a ball each, one guy had a catch for like 3 yards and the other guy caught a ball that was a 20 plus yard gain. Im glad Hilton did not play or this might have been a much different game and outcome
Win or lose, Adams is one of the best leaders, I've ever seen on a football field. Adams can talk his talk anytime.
I thought he had better ball skills comimh oit of LSU. In preseason drill we saw video of him catching so that mot the problem...its just his lack of awareness, instincts, and possibly poor angles to the ball. If he improves in those areas he will be an all pro safety.
Hes not a centerfielder..period. Hes at his best coming down hill & playing aggressive. But that doesnt mean he doesnt have an impact in the passing game bc he closes quickly, very fluid & hard to get around.
Fuckin love this kid! One of very few bright spots on this team! We have a stud safety ladies and gentleman!
His complete lack of awareness when blanketing everyone he covered today? Yeah okay buddy. Adams is a stud.
