Mods feel free to move this to NFL. Cant say I’m surprised. Seattle has to be kicking themselves. Thanks Joe D.!!!!!
I don't see how Jamal's talents outweigh his "Me-First" attitude. It's embarrassing. I can't justify giving him any type of a long term extension and making him the highest paid safety in the NFL. Oh and neither could Joe Douglas...............
I'll eat this crow. As I mentioned in the other thread I was wrong about Jamal. I always thought he lost his marbles under Gase once losing Bowles who he loved. But I was wrong. You have a chance to win a SB with Russell Wilson within an awesome Seattle Seahawks Franchise, but yet you won't even take top 5 Safety $? It has to be #1 $ or you won't play? That's not cool bro. Loved him as a player and still do but Alijah Vera-Tucker, Hamsah Nasirildeen and 2022's 1st round pick? Thank you Joe Douglas: You're a better GM and team builder than I could ever be.
I'm going to gloat a little bit because I advocated that we traded him way before he started really whining about his contract on the basis that there were murmurs that he wanted the highest paid safety contract for an in the box safety. And I got roasted here about how he's our best player and yada yada. He is great at what he can do but he's limited and it was a disaster for the Seahawks to dump so many resources into a guy that doesn't pick balls off. They should've turned him into a WILL linebacker.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...ut-as-he-seeks-contract-extension-per-report/ I'm reminded of the story of the scorpion and the frog (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scorpion_and_the_Frog). He really can't help it - it's in his nature.
Russell Wilson is already making a mint at QB. I don't think the Seahawks have two mints to play with.
Let's not forget, Russell Wilson has done the same thing recently. Are we surprised? You have to hold out these days as part of the negotiation process. Jamaal was under his Jets contract, correct? So, short of having a lucrative Seattle contract given, this was going to happen sooner rather than later. Just enjoy the drama we get to miss.
I mean he's still a top safety in the league talentwise but he's not a good teammate and he's a headache for franchises. I'm glad we got so much for him. so far AVT plus whoever we draft next year in the 1st
Speaking of which.. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...atory-minicamp-unique-contract-renegotiationp He's the six highest paid corner who signed his extension a year ago.
https://nypost.com/2021/06/15/jamal-adams-is-creating-seahawks-drama-now/ This trade by Joe Douglas looks better every day. Adams appears to be another Mevis. Great player, but greedy and annoying.
'Howard feels like he's outplayed the five-year, $75.25 million extension he signed in May 2019, which is set to pay him $12.075 million in 2021 and $49.325 million over the next four seasons.' What a prick
