O he was in there doing nothing! Getting locked up at the line or out of position. He made one tackle on Mcgahee down field becuase he almost ran into the Ghost crossing the field!
Atleast thats more solo than Gholston all last yr. Honestly, if Gholston can't do it now, he probably doesn't have it. This will be his last yr being evaluated. If he shows he's good enough to be on the 53 man roster spot, then fine, otherwise I think this project will be abandoned.
Gholston is going to improve. People shouldn't give up on a guy so quickly. It sometimes takes a season or two for players to make that transition to the NFL. He is a good person, he works hard, he has the physical skills. He will get there.
Westerman hasn't exactly been turning many heads either. I have yet to see him get pressure on the QB. He has made some tackles though, which sadly, is more than we can say about Gholston.
Westerman is an ILB primarily, isn't he? Gholston is an OLB... I guess in this scheme that hardly matters, but for what it's worth...
I agree wit westerman out there undrafted players play like they have something to prove I would like for gholston 2 succed but seems like he don't got faith in himself he was gettin blocked all over field Monday at least he made a tackle but this like his rookie season cuz mangina didn't give him burn blame mangina not vg. Can't get better witout playin
LOL Casper Gholston Westerman has made more impact plays in two preseason games than the Ghost in a year
Westerman is looking btter all around, no doubt. He did get burned pretty bad by Heap though on the Ravens' scoring drive. But, he seems to be picking it up faster and somethgin tells me he wants it more. And oh yeah, he's Canadian, from good ol' Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
Isn't this the only reasonable answer? Obviously whoever performs better on the field is the person who should play. I doubt that anyone thinks the Jets owe Gholston anything.
you can be VERY concerned...but you can't cut him this early. Even that bum Justin Miller got 2 or 3 years to prove his worthlessness at CB
Yep and he too will be out of football a year later. At least Robertson tried, he just didn't have the talent. It would take a lot of evidence to convince me that Gholston has ever tried since he signed that deal.
Two things I've noticed about Da Ghost. He always shows up after the tackle is made or you see him flying through the screen with a failing arm tackle. I just think he is unwilling to learn the art of his position. But I guess as a life achievement he graduated from college and won the lottery so to speak. He should be set for life. It should be criminal though.
