Rex Ryan's schemes are always nasty. He does more to try to get inside the opposing OC and QB's heads than anybody else. The question of whether he's got the talent to make all of that work is open at the moment. If he has to go back to the heavy blitzing then he's going to fall into the trap that all good DC's who blitz a lot fall into, which is that it only takes one mistake in the defensive backfield or correct read by the QB to burn you. If the defensive personnel is good enough that he can blitz a normal percentage of the time and maintain his other smoke and mirrors stuff then the Jets defense has a chance to be really special.
