He never made excuses then and I'm not making excuses for him now. I'm just giving you a dose of reality. It is what it is--he should have sat but he couldn't let himself do that. Had he not been injured we skate into the playoffs. _
he made excuses then, he makes them now and so do you. had we kept Chad Pennington we skate into the playoffs.
You are speculating too. With nothing to back it up. What we KNOW is his play went down the shitter the last 5 games, we KNOW the Jets hid the injury and were fined for it and Favre likely had surgery to repair the tendon after the season. Ignore the mountain of coincidences hitting you square between the eyes. Captain Intentionally Obtuse rides again. Too funny. _
he didn't likely have surgery, he did have surgery which means nothing w/ regard to the 2008 season. the iron man played through anything, he was playing hurt since October, had his only good stretch in November then packed it in during December when things got tough.
What I take from this is that the tendon in question is not needed for the actual throwing of a football and when it is partially torn the problem is pain and not range of motion. Favre was dealing with pain, not an injury that kept him from being able to throw the ball. And that's okay but it kind of makes his legacy as a player who can play through pain kind of a joke
all other BS aside it is typical Jets luck that we get rid of Chad b/c he isn't durable to bring in the most durable QB in history and he gets hurt.
I'd say that's a pretty fair re-statement of the issue. With the one caveat that a torn bicep can result in reduced arm strength; the doctors are apparently in disagreement over whether or not reduced arm strength is a standard result of the injury. Maybe. Maybe not. I find it completely disinteresting. I don't even like Favre; I just like him more than the handful of imbeciles on the board who feel they need to deny reality based on their personal hatred of Favre and/or need to troll.
Look you're not exactly open minded either on this or any subject. You can't just assume because his play went down later in the season and the team lost games it was due to this injury. Was it: maybe. But you say 100% it was. The articles you've posted are not conclusive. Some people think it's just spin from Brett's camp to excuse his bad play. Favre was disingenuous about a lot of things that season. So if you want to believe Brett go right ahead. All of these unnamed sources quoted in these articles you've posted: it could be they're Brett.
Good point. It didn't even register to me that that's not how head coaches talk, because I'm so used to Rex. I couldn't imagine any other HC saying that.
I thought he'd end up being the best Jet QB of all time and that he'd win us at least one SB. That year throwing darts to Coles all over the field and crushing GB and then Indy was one if my most enjoyable seasons. _
The real question is when was Favre's bicep tendon good enough to snap cell phone picks of his junk and send them to Jen? Probably when he was supposed to be studying his play book!
It used to happen all the time, before every professional sports team became a mega-conglamerate corporation. NSFW Language
So Brett Favre was the unnamed source that got the Jets fined. Wow you couldn't be more intentionally obtuse if you were a 14 year old valley girl. Holy crap. _
In every article you quoted unnamed sources were the basis of the stories. Since this started with Brett why not him or his reps being asked off the record about his health and injury status. In that case you're going to get their spin. Unlike you I admit I'm speculating.
