I like the '98 game more. We were winning that game so Vinny had us closer.

Nice article, confirms what I've been saying all along. Injured. Last 5 games.

Some people just intentionally want to forget reality, what actually happened.

we were so close in 1998 and I think Vinny had the best single season of any QB in Jets history that year but soon after the 10-0 lead the wheels fell off and the game was over in the 4th. we had 3 TOs and plenty of time when we got w/in 5 of Pitt, just couldn't get a stop.

I agree with you, and Unhappyjetsfan, about Farve.

Junc tried to 'wipe the floor up with me' when i first joined, about that team, and I bitch slapped him and put an end to it

can you read? he says he felt like w/ 4 or 5 games left he was doing the team more harm. he doesn't say he got hurt w/ 4 or 5 games left and this is Brett looking back making excuses just as he did when his agent sent out that photo of his leg following his crushing INT in the 2009 title game.

Favre was healthy enough to play, he played mediocre football most of the year and it finally caught up w/ us late in the year. Elway had similar injury all season and led team to SB, the iron man couldn't do it for less than a full season facing a creampuff sched.

I don't remember what we argued but I am sure I stokes'd you too and if you agree w/ him here you are getting destroyed again. if you go back and read this stokes look like the biggest buffoon on the site and while I poke fun at him he's better than he has shown in this thread.

Junc actually makes some sense if you read his posts. Again I'm not even sure there was a surgery but probably there was one. Since Brett's agent said "no comment" when asked about it. But what you and Stokes won't acknowledge is the degree of a tear he had because you don't know that. You're speculating. Some muscle tears aren't as bad as others.

Like Favre, Elway suffered an injury to the biceps on his throwing arm that required surgery. In 1997, Elway suffered a ruptured tendon, and his biceps now looks like an apple with a huge bite taken out of it. Broncos doctors said at the time of the surgery that there was very little necessary biceps function involved when Elway threw the ball, a motion far more reliant on his triceps. His Super Bowl victories came after the injury.

Elway, in turn, said Favre should be fine -- and even better than fine if his pain has been alleviated.

"With his shoulder, if they released that biceps tendon and cut it, his arm is going to feel great," he said. "I popped mine two years before [retirement], and as soon as I popped it it was great. What I heard is he had the same type thing. If he did, then his arm is going to be fine."

    ------

Elway said if would feel much better after Favre's surgery, just as Elway's felt much better after his tendon become completely separated.

If the mods would just hold posters accountable, threads like this would never happen.

We were tired, fatigued, imo. Each Championship we went to we were on the road and that was our downfall imo. Except Joe's great comeback against the raiders obviously

This has nothing to do with Elway or anyone else other than Favre. He was clearly injured and the last 5 games we ALL saw it and THAT was why we went into the tank. Not because of some BS about him not wanting to be here or being uninterested or unprepared.

He got us to 8-3, got injured and lost it the rest of the season.

Those of us who watched the games knew it.

    And he confirmed it.

DID HE PLAY? did the iron man play? that's all we need to know. we know he did, we know he was awful, we know he was hurt as early as October and played his only good stretch in November.

he didn't get us to 8-3, he helped but he also held us back.

he was making excuses as you are, the iron man always wants the glory for playing through pain and the excuse for failing while playing through pain.
