I don't know the rules anymore. Does NBC get to pick now? I know back when ABC did the Saturday games, they were stuck with the less appealing matchups because CBS and FOX called the shots. If that is still the case, then NBC would definitely get the game at STL or SEA and the Chiefs game assuming Jacksonville does not win the South. CBS would prefer the Colts game and FOX would want the 3 vs 6 NFC game.
If they get past KC and go up to play NE, I would fully expect Rex and the coaching staff to have something much different in store for the Pats than last time. Obviously whatever that was didn't work last time, so Rex might as well go out guns blazing.. throw everything he can think of up against Brady and see what happens. On offense, they better run Shonn Greene over and over. Soften up their crappy defense and keep Brady off the field.
Hmm. John Madden? Is that you? J/K, J/K. Personally I think the Jets gave up on the run too early in that game. A lot of the yardage was piled up after things were decided, but early on they moved the ball on the ground fairly well.
No Touché, Your overconfidence is appreciated as well. If this playoff game pairs off it should be interesting.
Seriously. After the way this team has played over the past 2 months, I don't get how some of you guys think KC is a walk in the park. The homerism is ridiculous on this site. Yes, we are Jets fans and want them to win but the rational of some of you guys is completely mind-boggiling. We can easily lose this game. Take it one week at a time before all of you idiots start talking AFC Championship/Super Bowl.
i like the jets matchup with K.C. just from last years playoff experience alone. the chiefs haven't been in the playoffs for a long spell, it could be a factor. i think they have had a lighter shedule than the jets have as well. Arrowhead is one of the more rabid and harder places to play in the NFL, but if the jets play to their potential, they can walk out of there with a win and unsurprisingly. Then again, this is the NFL, if they can't communicate better on defense, they can walk out of there with a loss unsurprisingly. Call it being a homer, call it whatever you want, but i like the matchup against K.C. I like the matchup against anyone, I'm a jet fan.
My 1st full day at Fire Academy / School is Saturday the 8th (9am-6pm) It's almost a lock the JETS will have the 3pm Saturday slot...... especially if they draw KC/JAX   hmy:
Hey, I'm not the one guaranteeing it would be an easy game. I like the matchup though. I would rather the Chiefs host the Jets than the Ravens right now, Chiefs are playing white-hot and the Jets are on a losing streak.
If we play at KC anyone want to guess whether we'll play on Sunday or Saturday? I would guess Sunday just because I would assume Colts/Ravens would be the 8 PM game on Saturday. Nevermind...I see this is being discussed.
Why is it a lock? If NBC gets to pick what games they want, then maybe the Jets game would be the first one. If NBC is not calling the shots, then there's no way it would be the first game. The 4-5 NFC game would be the first one even if Seattle wins the West. Seattle has already hosted the early Saturday game on at least one occasion.
well, I figured it would just be my bad luck........ at 1st I kept hoping for the possibility of the JETS in JAX (I'm an hour away and have ALOT of friends w/ season tix) then I saw the dates coinciding with the beginning of fire school...... being the 1st full day, asking off would NOT go over well (especially if I ever want a job ;-) not to mention JAX & KC being smaller market / TV draws they would get the less popular timeslot (esp. JAX) fingers are crossed! what games are NBC carrying? I figured it would be CBS & FOX
As soon as my post count gets to 20, I will reply to your PM. As it is the Chiefs are undefeated at Arrowhead. The Jets will have to play lights-out if they want to win.
NBC gets both Saturday games. CBS and FOX each get a Sunday game. The most coveted game will be the 3-6 NFC game which will be at Chicago or Philadelphia. While the road team could be the Bucs, most likely it will be the Giants or Packers. It's dangerous, but we'll assume the AFC games are Jets at KC and Ravens at Colts. Last year Ravens-Colts was a Saturday night divisional game. Jets-Chargers was the Sunday game. Manning and the Colts or a New York team? What's a better game for a TV network? That's a tough call, but I think the NY team would be the better draw. If the Giants make the playoffs, will the league put both teams on the same day? For Conference Championship Sunday the league can't avoid such a thing, but they could avoid it on Wild Card weekend. See, there is still too much to consider.
I hate to admit, but I think Manning vs "The Ravens D" would be a better National tv draw, espec. if the JETS are playing a team like JAX or KC. Hopefully the Hard Knocks effect would push it to primetime.
