Lacy is an obese RB with no second gear. He is slow. I wouldn't really want him unless he gets in shape.
I just saw some WR from Ohio State make an incredible catch at the goaline, high pointed it and grabbed it with two strong hands. We'll draft that guy and he'll get here and he won't be able to catch. _
Agreed. When healthy Ivory has the ability to be a top guy but staying at 100 percent has been his problem. Even if we werent going after a top guy like Gurley in last years draft it made a ton of sense to go grab Abdullah or Tevin Coleman. Powell's only so good of a passing option back. I think a lot of our fanbase overrates him.
at what point has he shown that ability? he has been in the league for 6 years, never has rushed over 200 times in a year. his high rushing total is 833 and he averages 12 carries for 57 yards per game.
Hes been surprisingly good in fantasy. He gets a td in some fashion or another in most games gets me like 12 pts a game min usually. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Yah I've started him every game of the season other than the Eagles game. He's only disappointed against the Raiders and Texans.
When he's healthy he rushes like a top 10 RB. Maybe not AP , Charles or Lynch but def a guy that can be counted on to give you 20-25 solid carries. But just like this year , that takes a toll on him. Your totals and averages are factoring in his games where he hasnt been 100 percent. Which is my total point. He's a better version of Shonn Greene. A runner that would greatly benefit from a timeshare with a good pass catching back.
Forte could be a steal in the FA market! The guy gets 100-150 APY a game and usually a TD.. Because of his age he could be on the cheap in guaranteed money...
1) stop running out of shotgun 2) attack the flat I still don't think Ivory is feature worthy. He's been pulling up lately, doesn't fight for the edge anymore. He's a complementary change of pace back; without the complement or change of pace in our backfield (at least the last few weeks). Powell has been missed the last few weeks (I know he played in Houston... Welcome back), Stacy is fodder. The Jets have lacked real running back presence since '10 with Greene and LT. Gailey should stop spreading the field with the likes of Devin smith, and handcuffing Ivory out of the gun. Our offense should include more bohanon packages; mix it up a little. 21st century football is pass happy nonsense; spread it out; got to get that PI call..yeah! Sheldon Richardson for 1yd is easy money. Fuck it, run #91 for short down and distance; if he suits up. Ivory is scary gamble for 1yd.
If he would come to a team and accept a split role then he would be an amazing pickup for us. But considering Ivory may not be back I think we'll be searching for a RB in the draft. If it was up to me Id go get Lamar Miller whose also a FA and fix the oline in the draft.
The Steven Ridley signing is looking more and more like a peice of shit with each passing game.A Negative Check Mark on Macs record that will be used against him when the billboards and websites get made .....
Look we handle Miami with relative ease if the run game gets going. I expect to see Powell with somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 touches. I expect Christopher Ivory to have around 10 touches, that is a winning formula against Miami in my eyes. Sure Ivory could have a big impact play early which theoretically could flip flop those numbers. Any thing less than 10 for Powell will be a big mistake. Must allow him to catch balls and find open space, something Ivory is not capable of. Ridley should get his usual 2-4 touches, though I am ready to pull the plug on the Ridley experiment if he does not show flashes. Stacy was bad Ridley is worse. So yes Ivory is playing for his starting job in the 1st quarter, that is if he hasn't lost it already. If no signs of life are show by Ivory we should be seeing a large does of out good friend Bilal. Oh and if Ivory fumbles again he should be sat for the rest of the game minimum.
i disagree, i think even when healthy or healthy enough to play he does a very middling job. the fact he doesnt log the carries and doesnt get through the games is an even bigger reason to move on from him. he isnt going to just end up being more durable all of a sudden. he has rushed for over 20 carries 4 times with the jets, he had another 2 games where he had 20 carries. thats 6 times out of 41 games played for the jets. not counting games he didnt play.
He more or less did stay healthy the last couple years though...cause they didn't treat him like a total feature back. He got his 200 carries but he never had the workload he had early this season. It was only a matter of time before the wheels fell off.
His high for carries is 198 and his high for yards is 833. Sorry, but that's not feature back material in his fifth year in the league. He hurts himself most of the time when he has four guys surrounding him and he ducks his head and tries to level all four of them at full speed for an extra yard. Tough to fault the guy though. He only knows one way to play. He's nowhere near the player he was, and I never saw him play, but there's a reason a guy like Earl Campbell only lasted what 8 seasons and his body started to give out on him in year 5? It's what makes Marshawn Lynch pretty incredible at this stage in his career, but as we see he's starting to break down. The huhuman body can only take so much. I'd bet he himself only has max two seasons left if that.
Oh yeah that same obese runningback with no second gear that averaged at least 1400 all purpose yards and double digit touchdowns over the first two years of his career? He's been hurt this whole year, again attributed to his punishing running style. Some of you really have a distorted view of the rest of the NFL.
