Fully agree. I'm not sure why Fields is still #2. I also said starting Cook against the Ravens would be doing the kid a grave disservice. What I meant was Glenn kinda has to keep Fields around because of the contract. Fields represents Glenn's first major decision as HC and its a bitter pill to swallow admitting he fckd up. Glenn's pride probably won't allow it.
Ahhh the recurring theme of prideful Defensive Coordinators masquerading as Head Coaches. Someday we’ll learn.
Sooommmeeeee daaayyyy our Prince will come!!! Not sure about learning. Not only are we trotting out another DC as a HC but we've digressed to hiring DC's that aren't even top 1 or 2 in Total Defense.
For a time, I was wondering who was the worst hire Glenn made as a neophyte HC. Engstrand came to mind early but I realized I was giving Wilks the benefit of the doubt. The reality is, the DC and QBC hires are the worst by far. This duo absolutely brings nothing to the table. Wilks' defense looks pedestrian for the most part. I have no idea who the QBC is but he's stealing his money and should be indicted for felony theft. All part of the OJT of a former DC in transition to HC. Memo to Glenn, you might want to re-evaluate your management style and decision making. So far? marginal and that's being kind.
Our QBC was a RB coach his whole career till recently, you would think this team in particular would want a good QBC but hey that's Glenn's guy..
Lets hope Glenn can swallow some pride and admit he made mistakes in his initial hires. We need a real QBC, not another guy learning the job. How can you expect to groom a FQB if he's being coached by a former RB??
And THAT would be the first step to becoming a REAL HC. No one is perfect and the moment he realizes that and can admit the mistake will tell me if he has the possibility of becoming a good HC.
