Exactly. Supposedly Gore isn't going to Philly now. It's such a roller coaster ride! As much as it sucks, it keeps us all in "football season" for 12 months.
we have to spend money, so who gives a shit if we overpay for a player. if we dont' spend money, the nlfpa spreads the money out anyways to the current players on the roster. we aren't a contender, so you tend to have to overpay for players to get to contender status if you don't have a franchise qb. once you're an established team, then you don't have to overpay anymore.
AJ Hawk... LOL no... But the Jets swung and missed on this guy. Kinda unfortunate seeing how we need to upgrade the OL, especially Guard.
Missing out on Iupati isn't that serious. FA officially starts tomorrow. Just ask the Eagles about frank gore. They can tell you. I expect to see some moves in the first week. Also too, the re-signing of David Harris and trade for Brandon Marshall came out of nowhere last Friday. Fuck all the who's reporting what and just be patient to see what happens starting 4 pm tomorrow. Unlike the idzik Rex era, I think bowles and maccagnan should bring optimism to this franchise and it's an optimism we've missed since the 2nd afc championship game in 2011. Let's see what happens people
Maybe when free agency starts? They traded for Brandon Marhsall, an aging, but still legitimate #1 NFL WR who is a superior player to any of the other WRs the Jets have traded for in recent years (Edwards, Holmes, Harvin). Would you or others rather the Jets go and drastically overpay Byron Maxwell as Philly did? I hope people can take a breath more and react so strongly and prematurely less
Remember about losing guys, some of this can be agents propoganda( gore situation) to up the price. also cause we're screaming and yelling on here to sign everyone doesn't mean the jets are on the same page. There isn't a situation where it's proven the jets were going after someone and they said fuck off.. Guys so far are getting overpaid, it's proof in the fact they can't take visits but are agreeing in principle to deals. Lol so much money there saying fuck it, I'll sign with philly sight unseen. Lol we're gonna be ok The nfl is upset about this too. Free agent visits were nice, kept interst in the game deep ino the off season, this guy came for diner, this guy got a hand job, they gave him a car etc etc etc lol drawing the process out.. Then They start this legal tampering weekend and every ownership just screaming 30, 40, 50 mill.. Lol free agency hasn't even started yet and it's gonna be over in 3 days. Lol the league office is mad? What did they expect. Lol I find this all amazingly funny.
You need to look at the list of free agent guards available. Plenty of capable guys who who will come at half the price iupati and Franklin were. And why can't we draft one in the first or 2nd round? Not every position needs to be filled in free agency
No.. i didn't want maxwell.. Honestly i was just really high on Iupati or Orlando Franklin coming here i got beside myself.. We can still get most of the guys i had on my wish list but Iupati was priorty #1 IMO.. we had a chance and failed.. just sounds too familiar.. but i admit getting beside myself.
Jets work my nerves man.. lol. But i overreacted. I really wanted iupati but there's still other ways to fill the need we have at o-line. and how the hell did we let idzik and his new crew out-negotiate us for a player! lol we coulda had Parnell.
The details emerging make it seem like Iupati was a longshot, not because of money but because you can't make NY be on the West Coast.
We will sign a RG, and there are still quality RGs out there. Personally I was more upset by losing Orlando Franklin. Let's just see what happens tomorrow, the day when free agency actually begins.
I told you... Reported by Mehta, "interest in this guy and that guy" means about as much as you talking to your last month's pile of shit. So no, when that sorry excuse for a beat writer makes up his stories, I don't even flinch.
