I also hate the two tone part of the jerseys we currently have. It just looks like a perma sweat stain. Me personally I would be OK with a Jersey change, I mean they have the whole Nike Pro Combat design team that has made some of the sickest uniforms I've ever seen for the Oregon Ducks at their disposal. Our name is the Jets but we hardly incorporate any aviation themes for, well.. anything. The "flight crew" that's about it. Wheres the fighter jet themed stuff, couldn't we design a uniform that brings that element into the design somehow with a logo or the unform itself? The Bears have a bear, the Lions have a lion, Colts a colt, what about our logo or anything else, where's the the jet?! Its not like we have a historic logo or uniform like the Packers or Steelers that hasn't changed in 50+ years, ours was changed like 14 years ago. I say go for it.
Must be a generational thing. I became a Jets fan at that time so those unis hold a special place in my heart.
I might be the only one but I actually like the current unis. I like the 2 tone colors because it kinda gives it more depth and texture without making it too bold. (Although I have to agree it does kinda look like a perma sweat stain)I'm also a fan of the slightly more drab shade of green from when they changed to nike. It kinda reminds me of army fatigues . I feel like they should try to branding the team with more military type themes . We have an opportunity
And there has to be some reason why woody isn't bringing back the 80s uni. There is no denying it's a good looking uni and the logo is great as well. It def has the retro look and I'm sure nike would have a field day with the old logo. It would definitely be a big seller in shirts and hats . If they made money off that New York titans crap then this would be shooting fish in a barrel
only change i'd make is the NFL getting rid of Nike. This olive green and stomach patch is disturbing. one color green please, preferably Kelly green, grey facemasks, like the 60's. if we make any change at all..
i can't… i know these remind some jets fans from the the 80's…but it reminds me being 8 years old and a 1-15 season.
I wonder if the 1-15 is the rationale here.. I'd buy the retro 80's gear before those God awful Titan throwbacks.
For a good decade now I have been hoping for the Jets to update the uniform somehow. The shoulder loop doesn't look good anymore because most players do not wear sleeves. I want numbers that look like the Missouri Tigers numbers.
Mizzou certainly invested in their appearance didn't they. All of their unis look great. I dunno what the fear is of updating. Its not like the entire history of the NYJ's will suddenly vanish if the unis change in the slightest.
I think that 2 tone green crap is a Nike thing. Good grief. Do they come with lace panties and optional florescent pink shoelaces?
