green is just a shit color, its an accent color and really has no business being a main focus color. that said, kelly green is a far better look at this point than the hunter green. now if you asked me 25 years ago I probably would have said I want a darker green. lets go graphite! we aren't the correct green from when it was initiated anyway, I see no difference in changing the color of the green or the entire color of the uniform.
That's the thing...beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is classic to one person is passé or tired looking. While I haven't seen any new designs that I'm crazy about, there has got to be a way to have a classy look, a new classic if you will, that is still got some new modern design elements to it. Holding onto the old would be one thing if the Jets had a proud, great tradition. We don't. For most of our existence, we've been the laughing stock of the NFL if not the entire sports world. We need something that says this is a new day, a new era in Jets football.
Want to say it is a new day? .....winning usually does takes care that. Uniforms mean nothing. team makes the uniform, not the other way around.
Winning is the most important thing, of course. After all, the new uni won't mean squat if the team lays an egg on the field. I think the Jets unis are tired. I intensely dislike the new green. I've never been wild about the hunter green. I loved the kelly green unis we had back in the '80s or early '90s (whenever it was). I'd be very happy bringing back a slightly updated version of those. If they're going to stick with the hunter green, however, I think our unis need a new look.
Strange, I wasn't thinking of a ping pong ball at all. I disagree about the "emaciated" bit, I prefer when they don't rub together, might start a fire.
I suspect we will get new uniforms at some point as Nike is really pushing for all the teams to do a redesign. No idea how we will go. I suspect that with the way that Bowles chooses his Jets gear, he would not be opposed to a new look.
im with nc on this one. the jets dont have a storied history and a really truly classic uniform, they arent alabama, notre dame or penn state. they arent even the bears or the packers. and i dont know of a single nfl team that hasnt changed up their uniforms through the years. and no stokes, camo is gay. graphite is cool.
Define "works" for me please. Not much worked for us the last 40 years. But the issue isn't the design itself, it's the green they chose. It looks like overcooked peas. It looks dead. They should use a darker, more fresh, healthier green.
I don't want a change but I want the 80s Kelly green throwbacks as an alternate instead of the titans unis
I do agree on the shade of green.. It looks washed out.. It's strange tho because some games it looks darker than others... Go back to that Reebok green and we are good to go. Thought I read somewhere that the reason the green was a different shade was because Nike was having trouble recreating the exact shade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So they settled for the worst green man has ever seen. I hope they get it fixed, it just doesn't look right.
Make the green not so dark and restore the completely-around-the-shoulder 'rings' on the jerseys (a la Ole Miss). FYI: last night involved the only 2 teams in the NFL whose unis have only 2 colors.
