Holy crap. The Red Sox are getting shellacked and there's not a single thread to post in.

Mets fans, come join us! 2:30 tee time, October 2nd!

And if this is the Yankees vs Red Sox thread, too, Cody Ransom 2 more homers and Gardner with 4 ribbies. Too little too late, but go Brett.

It's meaningless to us, it just cost you any shot at the div and now you have to play LAA in rd 1 but for us who cares? I'll watch the final games(not tomorrow b/c I'll be at the Jet game) but I really don't care if we win or lose.

On SC they just mentioned how the Yanks and Sox have had a monopoly on winning the AL East since the Rays began in 1998- huh? The Yanks won 9 and Boston 1.

Oh, I thought when I opened this that this was a thread about the Mets. My bad.

Fixed that. The Sox have absolutely OWNED the Angels in the playoffs. I'm not saying they will definitely beat them, but the Angels don't scare me at all.

Also, this series is weird. Between the rain and the score, there were a lot of empty seats at Fenway last night when I watched the last inning. I've never seen that before. Then there were all the garbage players in there like Pauley. I was watching the debate so I missed most of the game, but it couldn't have been too exciting.

Different Sox team- no Manny, no Schilling no series win. You cannot tell me you'd rather face LAA than Chi or Minny.

No, but the Angels don't scare me either. Not even a little. There isn't a team in the AL that I don't think the Sox could convincingly beat in a playoff series.

Red Sox have been scoring more runs since Manny got traded, and have shellacked the Angels all season without Schilling.

It's a different time, they had TB on the ropes ready to knock them out twice and couldn't do it. They failed in those big games. They will not win a/o Manny this year.

W/ Manny and Schilling? The Sox are easy favorites but they are not winning the AL w/ this current team.

Edited. Yankee Stadium is a true sports monument. Its truly a shame it has to be taken down. But I guess economics and infra struture demand that. TOO BAD. I regret all our grandkids cannot one day sit in that grand stadium and listen to the tales of that great lady.

Met fans only wish Shea stadium had the history of Yankee stadium... Just because the Mets actually made the playoffs and the Yankees missed for the 1st time in a long time means NOTHING @ all...Interms of the two stadiums.

The ASG was held @ Yankee stadium instead of Shea stadium for a reason... Nothing against the Mets or Shea stadium, but talking down on the Yankees and Yankee stadium is simply insane...As a baseball fan, I will miss Yankee stadium

Are u crazy? Of course Yankee Stadium has much more importance in baseball history. Has anybody disputed that? Its been there since 1923 and played home to great players like Ruth, Di Maggio and Mantle. Has any Met fan said Shea Stadium has the lore of Yankee Stadium? NO.

Go change your diaper. I played in Yankee Stadium before your parents were even dating. I don't need you to tell me anything about the history of Yankee Stadium.

The Angels have beaten the Sox 8 out of 9 games this year. Interesting definition of Shellacked I guess???
