never been one to believe that our previous gm couldn't evaluate talent or was just a numbers guy, but clearly Mac is superior at talent evaluation, and thats a very good thing. I feel confident that this man will make the best choice with our 6th overall pick. MAC ATTACK!
Then what does Bill Belicheck look like? Hard to get really up or down about a GM hire immediately, but definitely like what I'm hearing about him thus far
This guy did survive 2 GM firings and 3 HC firings, so it's safe to say that the Texans valued him. It doesn't necessarily mean they were right (Bradway...) but they did see value in him.
Here's some more info about how we hired him and the fact that he wants to bring in his own scouting guys (which is great news... bye bye Bradway): http://www.ganggreennation.com/2015/1/13/7541207/what-made-the-new-york-jets-choose-mike-maccagnan
Ehh yeah, these guys, you never really know. Everyone on this forum was raving about the Idzik hire, you always want to be optimistic, but who really knows honestly.....most these canidates are not in the public eye so as fans we don't know much of anything about them.
Happy with the hire. Mac knows how to evaluate football talent, something the Jets have not had in a GM the last couple of years. Hopefully, the Jets will have a fighting chance to land a few keepers in the upcoming draft.
Don't know much beyond what I read but the texans do have on field talent- so there's that, and I'm glad
I'm withholding judgment until after his press conference. Press conferences are the true yardstick by which you measure a GM. #fire_macagnan_dildo.com
