Do you go to UF? How do you know this? I go to UF and he is hardly a gd in gainesville. You want a player who is worshipped in gainesville? see Joakim Noah.

As you all know on here, I speak from the heart. Regardless of what anyone says or thinks, I try to call it like I see it.

I'm a Canes fan and I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm in the heart of the so-called "Gator Nation". This season, I do believe the Gators have a shot at a national title. I would not say that I'm a "Gator Hater" because they are not too important to me as a Canes fan.

However, I have several issues with their fans, who think that they are better than anyone else. As a Canes and Yankees fans, it's all about championships to me; not divisionals of conference championships, but the whole thing.

The Canes have 5 national championships, which should have been more. The Noles have 2 championships, which could have been more (If it weren't for the Canes); Florida has 1! They talk all of this crap about Miami's cockiness or FSU's thuggery, when they were on probation themselves back in the late 80's!!! What's up with that?

The Gator fans talk about the SEC, and I do agree, it is the best conference in college football year in and year out. But, what happened when they played Nebraska in '95? It got really ugly. When was the last time they had beaten the Canes?

Finally, some Gator fans come across as blatant racist and are too ignorant/ashamed to accept it. How many times was Chris Leak booed this season because the crowd wanted to see Tebow in the early going? How 'bout the flack that Leak has to take, even though he is currently # 2 on the all time passing list for UF? It goes deeper than just these examples.

Is that exclusive to racism? Maybe not, but the racist conotations that seem to show up from time to time is even more of a reason for me not to care for Gator FANS (Not their team).

I'm not some black guy with an agenda against any particular race or people, but I do call a spade a spade. In fact, the race card is something that I rarely use because it cheapens the cause, so when I have an opinion like this, I truly believe in it.

I assume this is in direct response to what I said about people not rooting for the canes because they are cocky. I wasnt "talking crap" get it right. I was merely stating that a lot of other fans dont like the hurricanes for that reason.

Why does it immediately turn to racism? Chris Leak has been the QB of this team for as long as I have been here and I, along with many other fans, truly do root for him. The bottom line is when its 4th and goal from the 1 Tebow is a much better option because Leak isnt gonna lower his head and get that yard. It has nothing to do with skin color. All the stars on the Gators are black and noone is booing any of them so that is perhaps the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Reggie Nelson, Jarvis Moss, Brandon Siler, Dallas Baker, all are black and they are our star players.

While UFs fan base certainly has some racists Im sure, it has no more than FSU or UM. I have no problem with FSU or UM as a program. I respect what they have accomplished on the field. I think for you to attack florida fans as racists for booing chris leak is moronic. As I said in an earlier post Chris Leak was booed by idiotic freshman who want to see the outgoing cocky freshman on the field. I was at the game I would know.

Chris Leak will never be booed for his accomplishments on the field or for his skin color. He is a classy guy who has provided UF with a great face for the program for 4 years. Just because Tebow provides a spark off the bench and fans are excited about it doesnt make them racist.

actually, I've been to UF and FSU. Not UM yet. And I will say I hate UF. ALOT. It has a truly elitist feel around campus, and their student body seems typecasted from a country club.

It really seems like the whitest place around to be honest. And this is coming from a white male. Theyve jacked up the requirements for entrance and there really is a snooty feel to the place. not to mention hillbillies. (im biased as im from jersey so take it for what you will)

now as far as what Trey Ko said about racism towards Leak, I dont think its really that as much as it is a bunch of white people cheering to see a white scrambling QB. and it is a slap in Leaks face that Tebow ever makes the field.

Regardless, I dont want this to seem like a personal attack cuz you seem pretty fair. But UF (the university, forget the student body) lately has increased alot of entrance requirements and is starting to act like theyre an Ivy League school.

I'm not taking shots at YOU. I know how some of the Gator fans are and I have lived amongst them. I'm a Tebow fan! But when certain things are said about Leak when a hillbillie gets enough beer in him, I don't think that's by accident. Recognize, the truth may not be what you may not want it to be.

In reality, do you really want to know why race always come up? Because it's ALWAYS the freakin issue!

Like I said Im sure UF has its share of racist fans. I mean the school is located in Gainesville, Florida. It isnt exactly the most diverse location in the world. I just think that to say that Leak is booed because of racism doesnt seem fair to 95% of the fans. I am born and raised in NY and only came down here for school, so to me race has never been an issue. I see how some students, alumni and faculty are more racist than in other regions of the country though.

But I can tell you the reason Leak get booed is for a few reasons, first the backup qb is always the most popular player, we all know that. Second, Tebow provides a spark, so those who dont know much about football, pretty much half the student body, and the freshman who want the fresh face, want Tebow in. That causes the booing that makes our university a joke. Like I said I love Leak and all he has done and continues to do. I think Tebow should only play in certain situations. Trust me, I hate the students who boo for Leak, partially cause hes such a great player and partially cause hes a great person who never complains about anything, even though he has every right to.

UF is far from the whitest school. While there are a majority of white students, there is also a lot of diversity in the student body. Maybe the city of Gainesville has hillbillies but if UF jacked up admission standards it stands to reason the hillbillies at the school are gone for the most part.

As for admission requirements, Bernie Machen came to the school during my freshman year to become the president of the school. He is basically trying to turn UF into an almost ivy like school, which is a great idea but unreasonable.

I personally can kind of see the elitism your talking about, a lot of people here act like they are better than other students. But for the most part students here are nice to visitors, at least the ones Ive associated myself with.

Whoa! Just checked my Yahoo picks.

I called for a 27-17 Auburn win over Florida.

I know how to take a screenshot, but don't know how to post them here, so you'll just have to believe me.
