This team is still no better than 5-11 or 6-10 at the very best. Too many issues with coaching mostly. I could go on and on about deficiencies on the roster, but that ultimately falls on the coaching staff. The truth here is that Todd Bowles and Ryan Fitzpatrick can beat up on losing teams. The duo did it a lot last season. The very second a winning teams shows up? They are both in over their heads. All of their deficiencies show up. Todd Bowles and his lack of in game adjustments. He cannot play chess. Fitz constantly trying to force the ball to a few players and ultimately getting intercepted. However, my tendency is to blame Bowles alone though. Fitz plays for the HC. It's the HC/OC that needs to correct what Fitz is doing wrong. Its also the HC that needs to make in game adjustments. And the above is ultimately the reason why Bowles should be fired. He has already shown that he's in over his head. He is incapable of beating teams with a WINNING record.
Until we get rid of Fitz we won't know if your theory is correct He has made a career of looking OK against bad teams and pathetic against good teams....especially on the road where he still has yet to beat ONE winning team on the road I'm not saying Bowles is good either but I know his QB is deifnitley not
If Petty gets a shot this year, I hope he goes out there and slings it. NOT play dink and dunk and safe on every throw. He has to realize that this is his big opportunity to show what he can do after sitting for 1 and 1/2 years. I'm not saying he has to go downfield on every play, but trusts his reads and WR to make plays. Throw with anticipation and find those mid-range seem holes that EVERY OTHER team seems to have no problem finding against us. Just Balls out and has fun instead of pressing and being overly-cautious
The team website has Petty as the #2 now, up until late yesterday they still had it Geno, Fitz, Petty. Now it is Fitz, Petty, Hack and Geno is listed under "other".
Yes. you are correct we will never know about Bowles beating winning teams until Fitz gets benched. But rest assured that is going to happen. Then we will truly see all of Bowles deficiencies.....
I miss Stokes too. With him gone, nobody is making Muslim terrorist jokes. This place is dull without him.
I would rather have petty at qb. And no I'm not a petty lover I just thought my name was funny. As of right now, Fitzpatrick gives the jets the best chance. But as soon as Petty is ready he should be thrown out there. I wish he didn't get hurt in preseason so he'd be ready.
Where's Stokes when you need him? Is anyone else trying to talk about the Jets wondering how he's cooking his lamb this weekend and more importantly what it's marinaded in?!
Q: What is the most popular kids show in the Middle East? A: Dora the Exploder! Q: What do Muslim men do during foreplay? A: Tickle the goat under the chin. Q: Did you hear about the Muslim party? A: It was a blast. That should cover you for a while more till he gets back
The only thing that Fitzpatrick gives this team the best chance at is to miss the opportunity to evaluate petty. I don't care how well Fitz plays here on out. Once petty shows he's healthy enough in practice he should be named the starter. Any further delay to evaluating his play at QB is a disservice to the future of this team. I agree. What I mean is I don't want petty thrown out there unprepared. Give him as many reps as possible to insure he has a fighting chance. It would have been nice to have his 1st start against the browns.
There's really no downside to starting Petty at this point. First, Fitz is gone after this year and since we can't make the playoffs, it's become a throwaway year. Second, let's say he plays well. We now have a possible QB of the future. Third, let's say he sucks. We get a good draft pick. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
