Yes it has, & this year was proof why, maybe next year Rex can make them all eat their words... @ least I hope so.
I really can't understand this train of thought coming from a Jets fan. "Durrr the season was SOOOO disappointing, but not because we were 8-8, because Rex said we were better". Get outta here with that nonsense. 8-8 is bad regardless of what the damn coach says in interviews. Stop acting like the words out of Ryans mouth are gospel. What matters is what happens on the field not the media gossip and drama. Try thinking for yourself a little bit. Lets talk about the ACTUAL GAME of football not the media's opinion, kthanksbye.
What is it with SOJFS like vilmalover and the rest, anyway?? After only three seasons, not one of them a losing season, many of these negative wallowers in misery are demanding that the Jets dump their most successful head coach (regular and postseason) in franchise history and also ditch their starting quarterback who has won more than 30 games in his three years as a starter (including four postseason games) There are only two possibilities IMHO First possibility They just became fans in 2009 and don't remember seasons like the Kotite error along with those of Coslet, Winner, Holtz, Carroll and pretty much all of the rest. Even the great Parcells has a worse three year Jet coaching record than does Rex The second possiblility is that they are captives of the NY sports media (the Benigno factor) and prefer wallowing in misery to just about anything else Maybe we should conduct a poll
It can get worse. There are no Limits to how much worse it can get for Rex ; If he allows it to. With a growing volume of the good and bad that is Rex Ryan it become clear why Harbough was chosen and not him. Owners/GM's want a well grounded individual that can be seen as the clear leader of a team. Now don't get me wrong Rex has shown he can be the absolute leader of this team , but also has shown that he is many things a leader is not. Rex with his short time as our head coach has shows 1. he cant keep his mouth shut 2. Put the organization in indefensible positions. 3. allowed his team to get a way from him 4. Did Not demand his coaches rein in their departments. Its apparent that he didn't show leadership attributes in Baltimore as well so he was not picked to be their coach. If you think about it; He is learning how to do his job that same as Sanchez is. Remember everything has to be working correctly for a good outcome to happen.
you forgot 4. took his team to the Conference Championship game in his first two seasons and 5. Has the best record of any Jet head coach in franchise history (regular and postseason) of 51 NFL seasons
There were positive notes to his three years , but he has shown some major flaws that can bite him some more. What has come out is Rex Left his Defense and offensive Coordinator alone to handle their departments and obviously that was not a good thing. Why is it that both times Leonard goes down the defense Looks like they don't know where to be ? Why is it you and me are sitting at home or at our local Jets bars and we watch the game where the team is at the opposing teams 20-15 yard line with less then two minuets left on 1st down; thinking surely they will run the ball and they throw it ????? There are some things that a head coach needs to get a grip of!
I closed your crappy thread. Could have banned you for trolling too since starting a thread to post a meme is just that. Keep it up and I'll amend that decision. You actually got off to a good start by attempting to formulate a thought instead of that cheap attempt to piss off anyone you could. Stick to that and you won't have to worry about who closed anything. Consider this your friendly warning.
Attention whore much? Your thread was shut down for a reason. That was was it provided nothing new but you taking a cheap shot at Rex. There was no news, no opinion, just a useless waste of band width bound to get people arguing. This thread is only slightly better, but not a whole lot.
This year was proof, but the last two years where we did better than the Ravens were what, chopped liver?
It does not get much worse then this for Rex and jet land. Pats and Giants are gonna play in the super bowl. Giants will be 4-0 in Championship games, us 0-3, 0-2 the last 2 years. Its gonna kill Woody. Wow, the pressure on Rex and Tanny next year will be intense. Maybe this will shutup Rex which will be good. I can not root for the Giants, so hear we go again, rooting for the Pats to beat the Giants just like 2007.
I have to disagree First, I'm rooting for the Ravens and the Niners and the Harbaugh Bros. Superbowl. If the worst possible scenario occurs, though, I will stick with my usual policy of rooting for anyone, even Hitlers Panzer Korps against the stinking cheating scumbags from Boston
Yep, it'll suck, but hopefully that'll be a good thing forcing some serious introspection....... Some of the older guys will agree that some of the biggest lessons you've learned in life are from the mistakes you've made in the past. Some things lucked out too quickly for Rex from the get-go
Yea i have been hearing that "next year" thingy for the last 43 years. How many years have you heard it?
No they have not but the FACTS those things most here tend to discard is Rex was REJECTED by the Ravens in favor of Harbough right?
