I didn't even realize that I forgot to edit my post. I thought losing to NE made us 2-4, not 2-3, for some reason, and I posted that as the game was ending.

With that said, our luck, I wouldn't be surprised if we lose to Miami (d'oh!).

So, do any of you veteran TGGers remember the Norm Chow Bandwagon?

We already have him onboard as a consultant..I heard he wants to coach again next year as he is already getting bored. He knows the players from this summer. Seems like an obvious choice if they decided to make a move.

This thread is full of win, but this post is by far my favorite.

The Shotty apologists are funny to me. Yes, the execution has been bad, but it's the COACHE'S JOB to prepare them and get them to execute better. And you can't help but wonder if the shitty execution comes from the frustration with the shitty play calling.

There is no ONE person to blame, I agree with this point. But to think that Shotty is NOT a BIG part of the problem is delusional IMO.

We have all our young major talent locked up longterm. I seriously wouldn't be all that disappointed if we start to sputter and despite not making the playoffs it means Schotty is gone.

I thought that was asinine thinking last year because we were in win now mode and had a real chance to win at all despite him, but at this point it wouldn't be the end of the world. There would actually be a real silver lining if we missed the playoffs. I certainly dont want it to happen but if it did, it would be taking 1 step back to go 2 steps forward.

Chan was always considered a good offensive mind, his problem in Dallas stemmed fro having Jerry as his owner, not his lack of ability.

He's already an OC for an NFL team.

At this point of the season you'd have to use an internal replacement-Moore, Callahan, maybe the QB coach.

    Uh????? No.

  10. It's among those three...Moore, Callahan, and Cavanaugh. I just hope this discussion progresses beyond the hypothetical.

I was not as down on Schotty before this season, but now it's obvious. A change needs to be made.

Sign Charlie Weis away from the Gators.

Running the effin ball with under 9:00 minutes to go, down by 2 scores vs Brady and the Pats is just beyond retarded.

Chad frggin Henne threw for over 400 yards on 49 pass attempts against the worst secondary in the league.

Sanchez threw 10 freaking times in the first half. I was just fine with us being a pass first team, as long as we can protect Sanchez.

Which from NE was not a worry. Rex jumped ship on the wrong week. God forbid we try and plays downfield, our longest pass was 22 yards. Holmes was targeted 6 effin times. SIX.. 4 receptions for 60 yards. If I were Holmes I'd still be pissed.

Charlie Weis with KC last year made Cassel look All-Pro, this year he's a joke. If I were Woody I'd do whatever U could to get him.

Rex pulling the plug on our passing offense after a horrible showing vs a elite defense with some 3rd string center in was way too premature.

Ground and Pound all we like after we get that god damn lead, not down by 2 scores against the best offense in the NFL.

I would be an advocate of Tom Moore as a replacement if, and only if, the following were true:

    1. He is completely up to speed with the current playbook.
    2. He has the energy and strength for the job
    3. He actually wants the job.

A high quality coordinator with Moore's years of experience would not even remotely consider undertaking the position (and the ensuing controversy) as an in-season replacement if he was not confident he could do a much better job than his predecessor.

Other than Moore (with the above stipulated conditions) I can't see anyone else taking over without the substantial risk of making an already difficult situation worse; be it a promotion from within or, even riskier, bringing in someone new with a different offensive philosophy and playbook.
