At this point I am done with blaming Schottenheimer, this is Rex's fault. He is the head coach and directly responsible for the product on the field. When you have the same fucking problem for 3 years a change needs to be made, unless your philosophy is "if it's broke, don't fix it." He doesn't even have to fire the guy. Just demote him and promote Callahan, I just want to see that this team is making a damned effort to improve.
Honestly Id only say its Callahan, I still have questions bout Cavs influence in Mark Sanchez development.
the problem with Rex is that he apparently knows so little about offense that he has never been able to identify how bad Schotty is.
if brian dosent get shitcanned this week, i really dont know what rex is looking for to finally get the job done.
The offense will be the reason we will never win a sb if we continue with schotty. There has to be an alternative. Sure some offensive players didnt execute and some receivers had drops but the play calling is atrocious. We should have annihilated their defense today. Our playcalling at the end is what should have been called earlier in the game. Schotty shy's away from whats working and is too scared to test opposing defenses especially in the middle of the field.
I am all for Callahan. Losing him as O-line coach would hurt the team less than losing Brainless Brian would benefit. Matt Cavanaugh can't be that bad either. Definitly not worse than Brian.
So everyone on this board knows he sucks but Rex is just oblivious? I think he's just being too loyal at this point and needs to just cut the strings. There's got to be some other factor like that, which is making Rex hesitate from firing Schotty.
The recievers dont even want to make an effort with all those ticky tack calls. We are truly fucked if Schotty is here all year
Play calling I can't remember the series, but the jets were moving and he calls an inside draw that goes nowhere. That play never fucking works for the jets. He just has no feel for calling plays. Just get rid of him.
I've never understood why he doesn't do this. I get that he likes Schotty and thinks it would be bad PR to fire him abruptly. Fine. Sanchez apparently loves Schotty so why not demote him to a QB coach and promote some one who can handle an offense as a whole? Callahan actually has head coaching experience and won't call comeback routes short of the 1st down marker.
I don't think schotty will be fired but his play calling abilities have to be taken away. Let someone within the organization take the position if they do decide to shitcan schotty and at seasons end then go out and find someone legit.
When our offense does three or more fake reverses to Holmes without doing a single reverse to Holmes screams pathetic play calling by Schotty. Just like the Oakland game with the play action empty boot legs. They did that four or five times then. Enough is enough Schotty is too damn predictable.
