Just like the postgame said, who knows where Dallas' run D will end up. With Rob Ryan coaching they could end up being a great D. Ware was already a beast, now with Ryan unleashing him he could have his best season ever.
We'll see what happens when our O-Line is healthy and better. They would have crushed these assholes if it weren't for the shitty O-Line performance
LT only looked better because he was catching the ball out of the flat and was able to get to the outside more than a few times. everything he did pretty much came from the pass. When we'd handoff, there were no running lanes. you can't put that on greene. he really had nowhere to go most of the time
The OL couldn't block anybody and the defense gave up 400 yards. Like Rex said there is a lot that must be fixed.
A lot better..seems to me they started off last year the same way saying LT would be the third down back and after a week or two he was the starter...I see the same thing coming this year.
The O-Line was letting gaps get blown up all night. That is why they abandoned the run. No one could run on the Cowboys last night with that poor O-Line. Also, LT can't run through any gaps, though he excels at passes in the flat or waggles over the middle.
Last night Greene did not look good, but I think that was more lack of OL execution and Dallas's D. It would be a mistake to overreact from one game.
I agree, I'm nowhere near panicking yet about our line play but during the preseason that was the excuse I used, oh it's only preseason. Rob Ryan did use some crazy blitz packages as expected but I NEVER want to some Sanchez that beat up, he was groggy after the game during his presser. There were just about zero holes for Shonn to hit. Dallas was a top 10 D last year minus Rob Ryan, look what Rex did with our 17th ranked D coming in as HC.
Exactly, and Rob Ryan has his pass rusher. Imagine D.Ware type with Rex. I don't think anyone would ever score.
Yeah I was saying that to the fans in my section yesterday, if we had a Ware we'd have close to the perfect defense. Having a player like that opens up everything else for the front 7, combine that with our corners and we'd be nasty.
It's sad that Greene is receiving blame for a poor performance. If you know football and you watched the game you'd know the truth. LT wasn't really running the ball. His success came in the flats with linemen and backers on him. Is he a better pass catcher than Greene? Absolutely! Is he a better back than Greene at this point in his career? Absolutely not! He did the dirty work and LT benefitted. You can't make your own holes.
Obviously the injury to Conner was worse than Rex was letting on. He was only in on a handful of plays and wasn't very effective. I'm sure this didn't help the performance of Greene either...
People act like the Cowboys didn't come in KNOWING we'd want to establish the run. Hello! These are NFL teams with NFL caliber players and coaches. Just as we gameplan and adjust, they do the same. Rob did the same thing Rex does. Send pressure to stop the inside runs, rattle the pass game, and live with 1 on 1 coverage. Ripping Greene for not hitting holes that weren't there makes no sense.
